"Game four will began soon. I repeat, game four will began soon." The announcement rang through my ears, allowing the nausea set inside of me to come back to life. What if I died? What if I was destined to lose it all inside of this personal hell. My past, gone in the blink of an eye. My future, left as another unknown entity of this world.

Reluctantly, I started walking towards Gi-Hun's bed where anyone of any significance here was. "What do you think the next game will be?" He asked the group.

"I'm not sure, but we have to make sure to stick together no matter what. We won't become traitors." Sang-Woo lectured us all, but I pushed his words out of my mind. I don't trust any of them, especially not Sang-Woo. I've been around him enough to know he would do anything to win.

I despised how everyone saw him as the perfect, smart, handsome man. If he was really so great, how did he end up here? We are all drowning in our debt, swimming up only when an opportunity to earn money rises. There is obviously something he is keeping from us. Watching his face twist in and out with lies was like listening to his inner monologue run through me like a book.

"Hey, what happens if we have to compete against each other?" I asked, hoping that would trigger some deeper evil inside of his nice guy facade.

It seemed to catch him well off guard as he looked down in thought. "I don't know." He replied in defeat. I think he does know; he'd take that chance to kill all of us.

We all started walking up the ridiculously large stairs, and I could feel a certain presence behind me. The shadow hiding in shadows, the girl I had found even through the thick darkness. My shadow, whom nobody seemed to have noticed until I had.

I could feel her eyes shooting lasers into my back. "Why are you always behind me?" I ask, rhetorically, taking the steps in front of me cautiously.

"Why are you always in front of me?" She asks with the same demeanor as me. Her snickering reaching my ears in a pleasant hum. I smirked in response to that, deciding to end the conversation there in hopes her laughter leaves my head as soon as possible.

We were led to a wide, white room that reminded me too much of an empty hospital. No color, just all white with the hint of bright fluorescent lights above.

"Welcome to the fourth game. In this game, we will play in partners. I repeat..."

I stopped listening after the first instructions and turned around only to be met with an empty spot where my shadow used to be.
