Wow, you're hot and observant

Now, there is only two reasonable explanations as to why we were each left a knife after dinner. Number one: Seconds. Two out of the three of us will die tomorrow, and this is our last meal. How could we not get seconds?

But the second, and more reasonable choice: Murder. This probably makes more sense right; they want only two of us to remain for the final game. They want their plan to come together perfectly. Which is why the last game is squid game, drawn on the wall right behind Jiyeong. How the fuck do you play squid game?

꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂꧁꧂

Thirty minutes until lights out and my leg is hurting like a bitch. I will have to tough through it for just a day longer.

"Hey, Sae-Byeok. What do you think the next game will be?" Jiyeong asked in an innocent manner. Her and I sat next to each other on the far-left bed, in front of Sang-Woo who sat parallel to us. I did not even have to think about the answer before I blurted it out,

"Squid game." Jiyeong seemed surprised and looked at me with wide eyes and pouty lips. My face showed no emotion, but my heart warmed a little.

I guess my answer needs a little bit of context behind it.

"Look on that wall," I pointed to the back of the room, "It's a painting of the children's game, 'Squid game.'"

"Wow, you're hot and observant." Jiyeong exclaimed, catching me off guard. She cannot just say stuff like this.

  I scoffed, "Funny."

"Who said I was joking?" She asked like an actual question, catching me off guard once again. Her eyes locked with mine and a soft smile stretched her lips. All of a sudden, her face seemed a lot closer than before.

I blink a couple of times, surprised. And when I opened them, I realized I was not just seeing things. She is definitely a lot closer.

My face instinctively backed up and before I knew it, Jiyeong reached in and pecked her lips on my cheek. I was too surprised to say anything, or even look at her, but I could hear soft giggles coming from her.

"What did you think I was going to do? Kiss you?" She laughed, moving her face into my view. Awkwardly, I made eye contact and nodded slowly, making her laugh like a child.

Looking down, I may have let a small smirk out, but after that I looked back up and cleared my throat, avoiding eye contact.

"I don't know, you look a bit disappointed. Did you want me to kiss you, Sae-Byeok?"

Holy shit, if she does not stop saying stuff like this, I will find the nearest cliff and jump. She has absolutely no shame in her words.

"Fuck you." I whined and slid down the bed, so my head was on the pillow. I am not scared to admit that I am acting like a moody teenager. I am not a teenager anymore, but I am most definitely moody.

"Aww, I'm so sorry! Did I hurt your feelings?" Jiyeong cooed like I was a baby. I completely ignored her and closed my eyes.

"Sae-Byeok!" She called, shaking me. This is very funny, but I refuse to laugh. I will not laugh.

I felt Jiyeong slide down next to me and wrap her arm around my waist. Quickly, I pushed her arm off of me and sat up.

"You're very touchy, you know that." I exclaimed while holding my hands up in disgust. Cuddling is not a word in my vocabulary, like many. Cuddling is something I will not allow.

Jiyeong was still on the pillow, but she suddenly went silent. That worried me because when is this girl silent?

"Sae-" Jiyeong called, sitting up with a worried look on her face. I followed her eyes to the blood spot on the mattress.

All of it was coming from my leg wound.
