I don't think very many chapters will be released here until the certain chapters of the main story are completed. Hu's backstory is on the last part :)
Friendly reminder act three ends with one more chapter, act four is when Oboro's identity is revealed, so be prepared
--------------------
Zihao frowns at the sight of his father in front of him. Not a sad frown, no, but one of disappointment. His body sat tied to a heavy metal chair, protective padding laid around the room in order to keep him from escaping. Years of mourning, begging for his father to return, have turned his yearning into not. No emotion went through his mind as he spoke, "even if you are my father beneath the purple mist, I shall never acknowledge you as anything near human."
--------------------
Zihao, watching as Aizawa allows his students charge into the war: you know, when I was a kid, I thought you were cool.
--------------------
Interviewer: what would you say is the biggest disappointment in life?
Zihao: watching the person you once looked up to become everything that they hated.
--------------------
A sad smile washes over Zihao's face as he stands in the doorway of the dark room. Three small bodies laid in their beds silently as slumber overtook them. Wiping away a stray tear that fell down his face, the teenager closes the door quietly behind him. The name plates the three children decorated, gently clank against the door. "Eri, Kota and Eilir was here." His footsteps seemed to grow slower as he approached the couch. Throwing himself onto the soft cushions, the only thought that ran through his mind was the fact that this would be there last night together.
--------------------
"When I go out, I hope I go out just as beautifully." Zihao said wishfully, his hand laid outstretched almost as if he was trying to grab a star.
A sad chuckle passes through Shinsou's lips as he nudges Zihao's shoulder. "I'd rather you not go at all." He says almost wishfully, but deep down he knew. He knew that Zihao would never listen.
--------------------
Why did Zihao have such a hard time getting over his father?
When Oboro was mentioned in chapter 18 during Nezu and Aizawa's talked, it was mentioned that Oboro was a loving and devoted father. He died while assumingly trying to find a way to support his money.
But he is also the main cause of their debt due to his addition. While he never abused Zihao physically or mentally, he was still neglectful. Even in the end, it was unknown whether or not he died to support his family or his addition.
In one of the short stories it also mentioned from Oboro's point of view how he needed to earn more money. At first he said his reasoning was due to his addiction but corrected himself to say Zihao. Meaning his first concern was alcohol, yet the mentioning of his son too also showed that he stills care for Zihao to some degree.

[ the one tiktok trend where their past self-talks to their future self]
"I guess you know my future right? I mean how often do you get a chance like this?" Hu asked his older self cheerfully. A wide smiled plastered itself on the eighteen-year old's face. His eyes quickly swept across what he assumed to be thirty-year old's body. His pink hair was now cut short, barely long enough to be pulled back in a small ponytail. It was still as messy as ever. He didn't grow much to his displeasure, but he looked more well put together. Nice outfit, clean cut hair, expensive watch. Everything he ever hoped for. "There are some things I gotta know! For instance, the whole working with UA thing, are Zihao and I doing the right thing? Do we grow old together?"
The grown man looked at his youthful self with melancholy. How long has it been since he last heard that name with such emotion? With such a loving tone... Glancing downward, a small smile curls onto his lips. Ruffling the hair of the other like Zihao always used to, he finally speaks. "You're going to love him until the day you die."
--------------------
"Turning me into a weapon for justice he said, he got his weapon and I got cheated out of my childhood." The words left a bitter taste in her mouth. Even after being able to escape from Overhaul, she could never revive those years spent. Those months in solitude, alone, praying for somebody to save her.
"I know what that's like." Todoroki spoke quietly as he offered a hand to the small girl.
Looking up at the male with tears in her eyes, she gently put her hand in his. "You do, don't you?" She asked the scarred male, allowing him to help her up. No more words were spoken as Touya led the girl out of the dark alley and into the light.
It does not matter if God nor Devil, as long as salivation is promised.
--------------------
The pink haired woman held her five-year-old son close. Her arms seemed locked in place as she tried to muffle her sobs. A warm hand gently held the back of Hu's head as she rocked them back and forth. Her husband rested a comforting hand on her shoulder as he forced himself to look away, almost as if he was scared to let his son see his tears. "I'm so sorry my love, I'm so sorry. We love you so so much, please forgive us my love." She pleaded between sobs.
A loud whistle rang through the old train station, signaling the departure of the large vehicle. The woman's sobs seem to only grow as her son is taken from her grasp. "He has to leave now, you know it's for the best." Her husband tried to reason as he pulled his wife away, anguish painted on his face. They both knew if they kept him, they'd never be able to raise him comfortably. At least by sending him to Japan with a close family friend, their beloved son may stand a chance in this harsh world.
Hu watched as his parents waved from the other side of the window. No emotion could be seen as he held his small bag made from a long cloth close to his chest. His mind turned off as he tried to make sense of what was going on around him. His ears stung from the newly made piercing, yet he didn't seem to care. His small hand reached up and barely grazed against the cold metal. "Whenever you wear these, you'll be one step closer to us." The memory seemed to echo in his mind. Tears began to grow in the brims of his eyes as he watched his home run away from him.
A shorter version of Hu's backstory, his parents are poor as fuck. They believe the best option for Hu is to send him to Japan so he can hopefully live happily. Which he does for some time, he lives with the people who own the restaurant and is given a room in the attic. His parents love him dearly and had to choose this outcome because they felt as if they didn't have any other choice. Sometimes a parent cannot be with a child, regardless of how much they yearn to.
Also, I'm making a playlist for all the sad songs I used to make angst stories, it'll be posted at some point if anyone wants it
