"Mum, what do you mean by 'The Listeners'?!" Xavier questioned.

Xyla looked down. "They're just a legend, according to my parents and my brother. The Watchers watch. The Listeners listen. The Watchers have a portal like symbol. The Listeners have an ear like symbol. The Watchers' color is purple, while the Listeners' color is orange."

Grian posed another question. "But why do they hate Watchers?"

"It's-" Xyla hesitated. "It's a long story."

"Can you tell it?" Xavier asked.

"I don't know-"

"Please? It'll be like when 'Suma and I were younger and you would tell us legends of entities. Like you would tell us about Herobrine, Null, Entities 303 and 404. Giant Alex, Distorted Alex, V ll r..."

Xavier was cut off by Xyla. "Alright, I'll tell you. Long ago, the Watchers and Listeners lived in peace with each other. Then, the Watchers broke this peace when an argument broke out between the leader of the Listeners and the new leader of the Watchers. A huge war broke out, the Watchers ended up being victorious. The Listeners had to flee. Since then, no Listener has been sighted. They don't do anything. Just listen. All the time."

"Woah. That's harsh." Xavier said. "How long ago was this? And how do you have evidence that they exist?"

"Roughly 10, 000 years ago," Xyla said. "And one night I lied down in my bed, ready for a good night's rest, when i saw a figure dart away from my window. I could have sworn I saw some sort of orange glow that night."

"But why orange?" Grian asked. "Why not, let's say...green! Or yellow?"

"I don't have an exact reason," Xyla mentioned. "I do know the Watchers' color is purple because that's the glow of Nether Portals, and a portal is their symbol. I guess purple is a cool color while orange is a warm color."

Grian decided to ask another question. "Is there some sort of Watcher magic that can bring someone back from the dead?"

Xyla sighed. "Unfortunately, only the leaders know. They memorized the spell then burned all the books so other Watchers didn't have access to it. Once the leaders put on their masks, they have access to a file for it." Grian and Xavier shared a look.

"So I could find it by putting on Xena or Xylo's mask, right?" Grian asked.

Xyla clicked her tongue. "Not exactly. They have magic that works against that."

"Oh..." Grian said sadly. "Well, we should get going."

"Wait!" Xavier said. "Mum, do you want to come with us? You'll hopefully get to see Xisuma again."

"I'd love to!" Xyla answered immediately, smiling.

"Alright," Grian said. "We need to find Dream and George. Unfortunately, we're no longer located on the same server, so chat won't work to communicate. This probably should have been thought through better..."

"F," That was all Xavier had to say in response.

After some preparations, the three entered the Server Hub, in search of Dream and George.

"Jenny, how are you?" The two boys heard Dream's mother say.

"I'm fine," Cassandra sighed dismissively.

"Why don't we go talk outside?" Jenny asked, trying to block Dream's mother from coming inside.

"I prefer to be indoors."

"Then why did you come over, if you prefer to be in a stuffy house the whole day?" Jenny replied, giving a slight laugh, and if you listened close, it sounded slightly strained.

"Felt lonely," Cassandra said simply. Footsteps began coming to where the two men were.

"Cassandra!" But it was too late. The American woman walked into the living room.

"Clay!" Cassandra exclaimed. "What are you doing here?!"

And before he could answer...

. . .

"Are you okay Dream?" George said softly, helping him to the portal as Jenny was trying to keep Cassandra from following the two. Dream's mask was hanging from George's wrist.

"I'm fine," the blond muttered.

The two left the server and headed back to Fernhend.

As the couple was walking down the hub to meet back up with Grian and Xavier, they coincidentally almost walked into them.

"Guys!" Grian said. Then he saw the slight bruises on George's face and the heavy ones on Dream. "Geez! What happened?!"

"Nothing," Dream said. "Let's just go back to our server.",

Long ago, the Four Nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Yea, writing the backstory kinda reminded me of ATLA. Writing about the Listeners kinda reminded me of "Turn it Down" by OR3O. "Through doors and through the cracks, I always listen but never act." No? Just me? Ok...(When you told me about her channel, I knew that I've seen that name somewhere before. Then just over the weekend, I found out...I watched "Anything you can do, I can do better" between OR3O and CG5 before -Pleb)
