The storm outside raged on, with thunder rumbling through the sky and rain pounding against the windows of the small, secluded cottage. Inside, she struggled to stay focused, her breaths coming in short, sharp bursts as another wave of pain overtook her. The room was barely lighted, with only a single flickering candle on the bedside table.

She cannot call a Doctor or anyone else for help. They hide in the dark and no one can know where they are... there is no real safe place for them. And far from anyone who might stumble upon her in this moment of vulnerability.

She had been hiding for less than a year with her father, away from the world that would never understand.

This was her burden to bear. The world outside could keep spinning in its endless, chaotic dance, but there, in that tiny, hidden sanctuary, she would bring her child into existence in secret.

Her hand gripped the edge of the bed as she doubled over, biting down on her lip to keep from crying out. Even the walls seemed to be holding their breath as if they too were complicit in this clandestine act.

The hours dragged on, each contraction pulling her closer to the edge of her endurance. Sweat dripped down her face, mixing with the tears that she refused to let fall.

She had to stay strong, had to see this through to the end. She had come too far, and made too many sacrifices.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she felt the unmistakable shift, the moment when the agony of labor turned into the primal, all-consuming need to push. Her body moved on instinct, driven by a force she couldn't control, and with a final, desperate effort, she brought her child into the world.

The baby's cry was small but fierce, cutting through the quiet of the room like a knife. She reached down with trembling hands, pulling the tiny, wet body to her chest, feeling the rapid heartbeat against her own.

The storm outside seemed to fade away, the howling wind and crashing thunder becoming a distant murmur as she stared down at the life she had created.

For a moment, everything else ceased to exist. It was just her and her baby, a perfect, fragile connection that filled her with a love so intense it took her breath away.

But as the adrenaline began to fade, reality came crashing back down around her.

She was alone... The world outside was still there, waiting for her, but nothing would ever be the same. She had made a choice, one that would change the course of her life forever. There would be questions and judgments, and she wasn't sure she had the strength to face them... Especially to face the father of her child.

But as she looked into the tiny, innocent eyes of her newborn, she knew she would do whatever it took. The road ahead was uncertain, filled with challenges she couldn't yet imagine, but she would walk it, one step at a time. And now, she would protect her baby with everything she had.

In the quiet aftermath, she wrapped her baby in a blanket she had sewn by hand, pulling the small bundle close.

She whispered a promise, a vow to keep him safe, no matter what.

"My Sevi," Aggie murmured.

She had no time to rest, no time to think about the future that loomed before them. For now, all she could do was hold her baby close and try to muster the strength to face whatever came next.

The world outside might never know that she still exists, but here, in this hidden corner of existence, she had found something more precious than she had ever imagined.

In the quiet of that lonely cabin, she made a vow to protect this little life, no matter the cost.

The road ahead was uncertain, fraught with danger and deception, but as she held her baby, she knew she would find a way. She had kept him secret this long, and now, she would do whatever it took to keep her child safe.

She looked up when the door suddenly opened... she saw her Dad looking at her with worry. Seeing her in such a situation, surrounded by her own sweat and blood while holding her newborn baby.

"I'm sorry... I'm late," her Dad said as he caressed her hair.

"Take my baby and keep him safe," Aggie said weakly.

"W-what?"

"I need to go back," she said in tears.

"You can't just leave him here with me?! He needs his mother!!" her Dad said.

"I need to make a better world for him... The Dark Lord will soon find us. I can't risk my son's life. He will not be safe by my side as long as the Dark Lord lives."

"You're still weak," her Dad said, wanting to convince her not to leave.

"I'm always weak but not anymore, so why wait?" she bitterly said, even though it's hard to admit the truth. She became weak, abandoned everything, and thought only of herself. But she already has a son who needs her... so she will do everything, even if it costs her life in exchange... just let her son live in a safe world... where he doesn't have to run and hide in fear.

She kissed her son's forehead for what might be the last time. Then she gave him to her father who could see on his face that he was against what she was going to do.

Her father stood a few inches away while carrying her son. He looked at her with a mix of understanding and sadness, the weight of unspoken words hanging between them.

"Dad," her voice wavering slightly as she tried to find the strength to continue. "I... love you."

He nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving hers. "I know, sweetheart, I love you too," he said softly, his voice steady but tinged with sorrow. "I've known this day was coming... but I didn't expect it to be this early... promise me that you will come home to me alive."

Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she blinked them back. She had to stay strong, for both their sakes. "I don't want to leave you and my son," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I have to—there's so much out there... so much I need to do. And I know that you will understand me."

He took a step closer, his gaze filled with quiet pride. "I'll be waiting for you... us."

She bit her lip, the reality of the moment sinking in. "Keep my Sevi safe."

He smiled, though it was tinged with melancholy. "Know that no matter where you go, I'll always be here, waiting for you to come home."

She couldn't hold back the tears any longer. They spilled down her cheeks, each one a testament to the love she felt for the man who had been her rock, her guide, her hero. She got up and stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him and her baby, feeling the warmth and strength in his embrace. He held her tightly as if he could somehow transfer all his strength to her at that moment.

"I'll come back," she promised, her voice muffled against his chest.

He kissed the top of her head, his voice gentle as he replied, "I know you will."

She pulled back, wiping her tears and trying to muster a smile.

"I love you, Dad," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

"I love you too, sweetheart," he replied, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Always."
