The battle was over for a moment, but the air still hung heavy with the scent of smoke and blood. Hogwarts lay in ruins, a silent witness to the horrors of the night. Aggie found herself sitting alone in a quiet corner of the great hall, stunned by the bodies lying lifeless on the floor, including Snape who she couldn't bring herself to look at.
And now, Snape was gone, his body lying cold, the last breath of life stolen from him by Voldemort's cruelty.
The tears that had been threatening finally spilled over, sliding down Aggie's cheeks as she stared down the floor, hiding her tears. The memories were all that was left of Snape now, fragments of a life lived in shadows. But even in those shadows, Snape had done everything she could to protect everyone.
Aggie's heart ached with a deep, piercing sorrow, a grief that felt almost too big to bear. She thought of Snape's final moments, the pain in his eyes, the way he had clung to life just long enough to pass on the truth. She thought of the man who had stood between her and death time and again, who had played the part of villain so convincingly that they had never questioned it—until now.
Kneeling on the cold ground, Aggie bowed her head, her tears falling freely now. The world seemed to blur around her, the sounds of mourning, all fading into the background. All she could see was Snape's face, the haunted look in his eyes, the sadness that had seemed to follow him everywhere.
"I'm sorry," Aggie whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "I'm so sorry... because I became weak in our relationship... I left you alone... I was the one who really left you."
The words felt inadequate, but they were all she had. She had misjudged Snape and hated him for things she could never have understood until it was too late. And now, all that was left was this crushing grief, this profound sense of loss for a man she first fell in love with.
Suddenly someone sat next to her... Professor McGonagall. That's why she immediately wiped her tears.
"It's okay to cry... no one will judge you," she said calmly "Did he die in vain?" she suddenly asked.
"No," she answered softly "He didn't die alone... he died with eyes looking at him as if he were a hero... he is a hero."
"You love him?" said McGonagall and looked directly at Aggie.
"I do," said Aggie in pain.
"Very well..." said McGonagall.... she took a sigh before speaking again "I was wrong... pointing my wand against him, he lost his life thinking I hated him. Good thing you're there," McGonagall with regret in her voice.
"You are wrong... he has no resentment towards you... or anyone," said Aggie and smiled at McGonagall.
Aggie left McGonagall crying in vain... giving her space while grieving for the loss of her son like. She headed to the Headmaster's office where Harry was now.
He found Harry dazed holding Snape's memory vial. "Have you looked at it?" she asked.
"No... I don't know if I can do this alone," said Harry.
Aggie approached Harry and took his hand "Let's do this... together."
Harry nodded... As Harry and Aggie plunged into the Pensieve, the world around them shifted and blurred, swirling like smoke before solidifying into scenes from a life they had never truly known.
The air was thick with a gentle, golden glow as if the very essence of magic had woven itself into the fabric of this memory. Their breath caught in their throat as they took in the scene before them; a lush, green meadow, the grass swaying softly in a breeze that carried the scent of wildflowers. Above, the sky was an endless expanse of twilight, where day and night met in a perfect, harmonious balance.
