Chapter 19

Everybody was silent. Nobody dared to remove their gaze from the spot where Kiara was.

Kiara got pulled into the water.

She got freaking pulled into the water.

" I'm not the only seeing things , right?" Jay asked with his gaze still fixed on the empty spot.

" Yeah. I also saw something weird," Alaric whispered.

"...Kieran , what the heck happened?" I asked shivering slightly.

" KIARA GOT FREAKING PULLED INTO THE WATER!" I stood up facing Kieran's form. In a few seconds , with my cheeks red from anger.

" ...I'm sorry...I couldn't get here on time," Kieran said averting his sad gaze to the ground.

I went down on my knees , trying to think of a solution.

" LISTEN HERE YOU WATER CREATURE! BRING BACK MY FRIEND!" I shouted before scoffing loudly.

I'm not really in a mood for adding Kiara to the missing person's list.

Kieran looked at me apologetically before slumping his shoulders in distress.

" Kieran , did you see what pulled her into the water?" Alaric asked finally standing up from his sitting position.

" A mermaid did, " Kieran answered.

Jay layed back on the ground before scoffing loudly.

" If it isn't dragons or giants , it's witches and mermaids. What else are you hiding from us?  We nearly died back in the forest because of a ' black funny thing '," Jay said shaking his head.

" Perhaps we will bump into a unicorn when we head back into the forest," Alaric said shaking his head with his eyes still wide.

As Alaric finished his sentence , the water shone a purple colour. It was just like a light under water. Then my eyes caught sight of a moving form under the water. The form was heading towards us. Kieran then quickly pulled me away from the water so I was at a safe distance. Funny how he decided to act only now when he could have done that with Kiara.

Then the creature's form became visible to our eyes.

But we could only see wet black hair.

Y'all know those type of horror movies where you see a girl with her hair covering her face , wearing a white hospital gown? Yeah , imagine the creature's covered face like that now.

" ...This is embarassing," We heard the creature mutter.

The boys and I looked at each other with furrowed brows before looking back at the creature.

The creature then removed her hair from her face with her hands.

I totally wasn't expecting it.

Okay , maaaybe I expected mermaids to be beautiful but that mermaid before us looks breathtaking.

I was about to master a smile before realisation hit me-

" SHE'S NAKED!" I heard Alaric shriek before he dramatically went behind wide-eyed Jay. Kieran was already looking at the sudden beautiful tree that was a few lunges away from us.

" WHAT'S WITH YOU PEOPLE? YOU'VE NEVER SEEN A NAKED MERMAID BEFORE?!" The creature shouted letting her long hair fall onto her upper body- covering the important bits.

I shot her with a small smile as her eyes landed on mine.

" He-hello...I'm Eli-ssia!" I spoke up , taking small steps back as she looked at me.
