We all stared at the woman. She looked so familiar. She looked like the old woman back in the woods- in the real world of course.
" So you are following us everywhere huh?" Jay scoffed before I hit his shoulder because of his rudeness.
" Hello. Do you remember us?"
The lady scrunched her nose at us in confusion.
"...remember you guys? I've never met you guys. "
Then silence.
Was she playing with us? I mean I know it's that woman from the woods.
Then the old lady laughed. I believe her prank worked.
" I believe you kids met my dear sister. "
Wait , what?
" You guys aren't from around here , huh? "
We all nodded slowly taking a small step backwards whenever possible.
" Oh , then I'm Gertrude. You can just call me by that. Don't call me Grandma Gertrude. You will make me feel old when you call me that. " She laughed placing her hands on her hips.
She...is different. This woman laughed more than the one back in the woods. She even seemed healthier than the woman in the woods.
" So if you're still lost , I'm just her twin sister. "
All of our eyes widened.
" And Nathan-" She averted her gaze from us to the little boy.
"How about you go to town to sell those stuff , not in the woods LIKE I SAID?" She said emphasizing her last words.
The boy quickly nodded before speeding up the path to where I guess town is.
" So kids , would you love to pay a visit to my garden?"
We just stared at her still in shock.
" How do...we know you wouldn't cook us? " The rest of us looked at Kiara after she said those words.
" I guess Nathan talked too much. " Gertrude sighed.
" Or we can talk while we walk to town huh? You see the direction Nathan went to? That's where town is. "
We all nodded stepping forward to continue the walk.
" So kids , I believe you know why you are here. "
We all nodded , Kiara holding my arm incase something funny decides to happen.
" That's good! But-" Gertrude looked at us scanning our bodies head to toe.
" These clothes would give you guys away! How about I rush home and bring you guys clothes? I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind dressing here in the middle of the path. "
There was no freaking way I was going to get dressed on this path. This woman right here didn't look sketchy from the start. It's the woman back in the woods that was scary. And if Gertrude wanted to kill us or cook us , she would have done that long time ago.
" Let's go y'all. " I said to the gang.
" To where?" Jay said furrowing his brows.
" Her house. There's no way I'm dressing up on this street. "
I don't know the real reason why we should even change in the first place. Perhaps , she wanted us to fit in with the humans of this world , I guess.
Yeah , they gave me a 'Are you crazy' look.
