Chapter 20

" So have you ever told Sebastian about how you felt about him?"

" Alaric , is that really how you start a conversation after going diving like a submarine?"

Alaric just chuckled , shrugging his shoulders in the process.

" But then have you told him?" Kieran curiously asked.

Kieran decided that he would swim by himself towards the waterfall and then just hold Amethyst's hand to get through the waterfall. Let's talk about pride , huh? Dude legit removed his hand from hers when they barely made it out of the rushing water that would push them down.

" ...No. I haven't. " I answered , lying flat on my back.

" But then has Sebastian ever had a girlfriend before?" I asked closing my eyes.

Silence.

I looked at Alaric and man , was all the colour drained from his face.

" Ala-"

" AND WE HAVE ARRIVED!" Amethyst shouted with Jay whose eyes were tightly closed , his form holding onto Amethyst's back.

He slowly opened his eyes before cautiously getting off her back and sitting on the dry land.

" I realised someone can't swim," Amethyst chirped.

Jay just avoided her gaze.

" Soooo..." The mermaid chuckled.

" THE KISS!" She shouted with a smile.

The rest of us nervously chuckled. Jay slowly gulped while Amethyst moved an inch closer and closer.

The contrast was just too funny.

The mermaid was smiling like she was getting married while Jay on the other side looked like he was going to get killed.

" Wait , you ain't going to turn me into a mer-"

Amethyst just gave a 2 second peck on his lips.

It was like a scene of a whole love story in a fairytale. To be specific , The Little Mermaid.

" You see? A peck on the lips is not that hard. Plus I believe you're younger than me so I wouldn't go any further-"

" HOW OLD ARE YOU?" Jay shouted in panic.

Amethyst nervously chuckled.

" ...I'm 18..."

" Man , I swear , if I found out that you were lying-"

" I'm for real , I'm  18. " Amethyst frowned , crossing her arms.

" Well , we thought you were 2100 years old like Sebastian over here," I chirped in.

Then Amethyst's smile fell.

" That guy-" She pointed towards Kieran.

" ...is 2100 years old?" She asked backing away from us.

The group except Kieran , furrowed their brows at her action.

" Guys , do you know-"

" You promised to bring Kiara back , didn't you? You kissed Jay so I suggest you get to that now," Kieran raised his brow , crossing his arms.

Amethyst flinched at sound of his voice and quickly dived into the water , no longer being visible in sight.

" What was up with her just now?" Alaric asked clearly being as confused as I am.

" I have no idea," Kieran said , shrugging his shoulders.

Within a second , Kiara's head popped out of the water as she breathed heavily.
