"Hey." He whispered, then didn't know why the word left his mouth.

"I'm s-sorry," Maxi was just as quiet. "But I think I'm dying from...holding back. It's been so l-long."

Riftan nervously swallowed as she pulled back and met his eyes. Even in the dark, he could tell her whole body was burning up, red and warm. He secured his hold on her waist as his own ears turned red.
