Kalego immediately ran to the Principal's office to report what happened to his grandniece. Throughout his reporting, he noticed that Sullivan was calmly listening with both arms and hands intertwined in front of him. Though calm, he can see how his eyes are filled with worry once he gets into the part where Y/N collapsed out of exhaustion.
As much as he wants to go, the only thing he can do now is wait for his grandniece to wake up and see what the Leviathan is doing—no, that cannot wait. Ever since Demons existed, no one had ever succeeded in making those prideful but had the right reason to be, creatures as their familiars. Even the previous Demon Kings and Transcendents, no one had ever become successful in making them as their familiar. Questions and worry filled his head, causing him to feel a dull headache. He thought that none of this should wait, so he stood up from his seat, grabbed Kalego, and transported them to the clinic.
...
Once they arrived, Sullivan immediately checked his grandniece only to find the creature who is deemed as the greatest monster of all, cooling down Y/N. He looked at the Leviathan's eyes to see that it was checking him out.
"Sullivan-sama and Kalego-sensei?"
They turned around to see the nurse holding a big bowl filled with ice water and a soaked towel.
"Y/N woke up minutes ago but told her to rest more. Her fever went down a lot, and she is recovering fastly thanks to Leviathan. Please don't worry much. This is a normal reaction, especially to stronger familiars."
Both men nodded in understanding. They knew that too, but the worry clouded that this reaction was bound to happen. The nurse respectfully shooed them away so that Y/N would not wake up due to noise and let her rest more. The nurse promised that she would notify them once she woke up.
Sullivan went back to his office, and Kalego went back to the summoning hall to clarify some things (per the Principal's instruction) and ensure that all students are feeling well. He told Asmodeus and Clara about Y/N's situation, which relieved them. Once all was settled, it was announced that the announcement of their ranking would be tomorrow morning.
...
Going back to the clinic, the nurse can't help but feel scared and admire the creature lying beside the sick student. She was recovering fast, thanks to the Leviathan. Back when the three people came with Y/N left, the bracelet she was wearing suddenly turned to the monster she and everyone else feared. She was scared but was fascinated at the same time. It was stated in the books that only the Demon Kings or the Transcendents have the power to pull off, but no one was ever successful in taming them. She can't help but wonder how Y/N pulled it off.
A strange hissing sound echoed throughout the room. She knew it was the Leviathan, and so she went to Y/N's bed, only to see precisely the moment she was fluttering her eyes to clear her view. The nurse carefully put her hand on the student's forehead and was relieved to feel that her fever was gone.
"Hello, are you feeling better now?"
"Yes. Thank you, nurse...."
"The name's Eli!"
"Ah... what a nostalgic name."
The nurse, whose name is revealed Eli, saw how there was a glimmer in Y/N's eyes. Perhaps it was out of sadness, or perhaps it was out of happiness. But it seemed like it was the former more.
"Oh! And here's your cup of water and medicine for your headache. I'll go for a bit to notify your guardians that you woke up. If you're wondering, you woke up exactly the time to go home."
She heard her drink the medicine through the noise that the cup made. By the time she notified the Principal and her teacher, she noticed the student had gone silent.
"Y/N? Sullivan-sama and Kalego-sensei are on their way. Are you okay standing up now?"
She heard the curtains make a whoosh sound as it parts and saw the Leviathan, smaller than its true form, insisted on letting her ride on his back.
"Ah no, I am okay. Please, it's not your fault."
"..." The Leviathan was staring at her—perhaps out of worry or out of guilt on what he had done to her.
Ah, the nurse realized. Perhaps, the reason why Leviathans do not want to be tamed is because of this very scene playing in front of her. Perhaps, in the Leviathans, the first one that let itself get tamed saw how it was for its contractor. The fear and worry that demons that they, the ones who swore to protect them, might end up becoming the very reason why their contractors are suffering.
"I heard this was a normal reaction, the stronger a familiar is. So please, I assure you that I am fine, and none of it was your fault."
The Leviathan stared at its contractor down and lowered its head to connect or lean on to its contractor's own before becoming her bracelet.
After that happened, her guardians were now within the room. As much as our dear Principal wanted to hug her and ask her if she is feeling pain, the fact that she woke up is enough. She had enough, so no questions would be asked. Her teacher was staring at the bracelet she was wearing. Despite looking like a scale bracelet, he felt the power of her familiar.
"Ah, where's Clara and Asmo-kun?"
"I told them to go home. They might get more stressed and worried at every step you take."
"Haha, that is true," she smiled. She sees the two causing a stir because of her. Asmodeus letting her piggy-back ride him, and Clara says she can create a carriage just for her. She then looked at her gramps' side to see her teacher staring at her bracelet.
She wanted to make a 'tsk' sound at how handsome he is despite all the stress and worries. But instead of entertaining that thought, she asked why he was still here.
"As your teacher, it is my duty to protect and make sure that my students, including you, are safe and well."
"Ah, I got student-zoned," she muttered. Luckily only Nurse Eli heard it and smiled at how relatable she was. Kalego is known as a flower that everyone cannot pick. All can only admire him from a distance.
"Well, thank you for that. Will be the results of student classes released tomorrow?"
"Yes, it will," her gramps answered. He pondered about something for a bit and continued talking, "I will make sure that you will go to the place where you deserved to be!"
Oh boy, she thought. She knew that it would make her more and more famous. But then again, ever since she was introduced as a Transcendent and the Principal's grandniece, she knew that living a quiet or simple life was out of her reach.
"Well, I thank you in advance. Shall we all go home?"
All except nurse Eli went out of the clinic. Kalego went back to the faculty room to get his stuff, and the two, thanks to Sullivan's ability to teleport, are now back home. Sullivan reported what happened to Opera, which made his ears twitch downwards. As soon as he heard what happened to her, he knew that he would have to make her favorite food to replenish and for her familiar. He knew that it was the bracelet because of the power leaking out—the aura of the bracelet was heavy.
He let the chefs know what they needed to cook for tonight and was happy to cook anything as they got to see her reaction once again. They got what they wanted once Y/N was done eating. As for the latter, she brushed her teeth, took a bath, and settled on to her bed. The Leviathan became smaller like a household snake pet and settled beside her.
"I think it would be better if I learn what you feel or hear what you want to say. But I think I am asking for too much."
"No, my dear contractor. I can speak. If you want me to transform as a human, I would gladly do so."
Out of shock, she fainted and went on to sleep. As for the Leviathan, it was flustered as revealing that he could communicate with her made her faint out of shock. It thought that revealing secrets should be said slowly.
