Backstory: Y/n L/n, you were the princess of Álfheimr. Your parents later on brought you to Asgard when you were quite young. Next to your palace lived Loki and Thor. All three of you became pretty close practically inseparable. After growing up they wanted you back in Álfheimr to rule as their queen but you refused because no matter how close you became to both the brothers perhaps you started to gain feelings for Loki. But after sometime you finally admitted it as your parents agreed to let you stay only if you could become a queen now. So you did, you and Loki got married first he wasn't king, it was Thor but then Thor decided he didn't want to be a king as he fell in love with a Midgardian and wanted to stay there. So after giving up the throne they officially made Loki and You the king and queen of Asgard.

*You wake up with the sun shining on your face, you turn only to find the other side of the bed empty as usual. You get up and put on a robe and head to the balcony where you see Loki standing. You go and hug him from the behind which he responds to by only caressing your arm*
Y/n: Good morning. *you said giving him a kiss on the cheek*
Loki: good morning, dear. *he said with a quick smile*
Y/n: whats happening, dear? Why do you look so worried?
Loki: well about the upcoming treaty of Nidavellir it just can't go wrong or else Asgard might not be ready to face the consequences.
Y/n: what? Your still working today?
Loki: well yes, as i told you it just can't go wrong.
Y/n: but today it's-
Loki: sorry Y/n, I have to go now.
*he said and left*
You couldn't believe how he'd forget such an important day. The more days pass the more he's becoming distant.

"So since everything is officially finished, I suppose all we can do now is just celebrate."
Loki: Indeed. And as a treat on our behalf, we cordially invite you to the yule ball being held tonight.
"Ah thank you very much, I look forward to it. But your sure everything tonight before the event will go smoothly right?"
Loki: yes, I can assure you it will.
*After finishing their meeting, Loki walks out hurrying his way for the other meeting as Thor came up to him*
Thor: brother, didn't expect to see you working today.
Loki: what? What is going ok today? Is it some holiday or something?
Thor: well no. It's just today it's 19th August isn't today your-
Loki: our anniversary! Well fvck uh do you know where Y/n is?
Thor: yeah I saw her on my way back from Álfheimr.
Loki: damn I have another meeting like right now. Uh guards! *he yells at the guards as they rushed in*
"Yes, my king?"
Loki: go to the market get the most luxurious necklace you can find and send it to our room.
"Of course."
*the guards said and left to finish the task as Loki also left for his last meeting*

Loki arrives at your room only to find a blue pendant necklace lying on the floor and other jewellery mostly broken lying on the floor as he sees you standing in the balcony.

Loki: so didn't like the jewelleries? *he says while standing besides you*
Y/n: Loki, I don't want materials that's not what I wanted today. It's the only one day I asked you to not work on-
Loki: Y/n, I'm sorry but the treaty of-
Y/n: is work seriously more important to you than us, our relationship?
Loki: you know what, yes. Yes it was more important. *his voice changed into a bit harsher tone, as you stared at him in disbelief*
Loki: And quite frankly I don't understand what you want. You are the queen of Asgard, power, money, jewellery, luxury you have it all so what more do you want!
Y/n: I never wanted any of those things! *you also raised your voice*
Y/n: all I ever wanted was you. The boy who was always there for me no matter what, the one who'd read to me everyday, dance with me at our spot and not just put on a show for others, used to hold me close to him every night and morning I want all those back. That was all I ever wanted! I want him back not the one who barely even remembers that he's got a wife except in front of the crowd. *you raised your voice even more*
Y/n: You know what I want now? I want my heart back because it's clear you've completely changed and not for the better at all. *you said in a shaky tone while walking off*
Loki: Y/n wait. *he said in a calmer tone*
*you turned around, looking back at him*
Loki: uh the yule ball i-is tonight..so
Y/n: what's the point? There isn't even a bit of partnership between us so I don't care. Why don't just go and dance with someone else surely it wouldn't be a problem for the king to find a maiden or a new wife. *you said while leaving, he sighed feeling guilty realising how much he messed up*
