I was furious at my family. I took Kenneth's hand and walked down the stairs with her. As we walked toward the front door, I could feel the tension in the room.

"Flith." My mother muttered under her breath. I just kept walk. We walked out the front door and I slammed it hard. Then all my anger washed away. I couldn't be angry as I held Kenneth's hand. She had done nothing to deserve this anger.

"I am sorry about that. D-did my mother give you any food?" I looked at her.

"No." She said quietly and I swore under my breath. I let go of her hand and ran back inside and grabbed a empty plate and filled it with food.
I came back out to find her sitting under the oak tree, asleep. I smiled and set the plate down and then moved to sit next to her.

I pulled her over to rest her head on my chest and then kissed her forehead. Her eyes fluttered open to look at me.

"East?" She said softly, lifting her head up.

"Shhh. Go back to sleep." I smiled down and her and began to rub her back.

She closed her eyes and layed her hand back down, falling alseep instantly. I layed back against the tree, sleep falling upon me like snow in the winter. My eyes closed and I fell into a deep sleep.

I was awoken in the morning by a kiss from my true love. She kissed my lips softly and I sat up, kissing her back. As she pulled away, I smiled.

Then I heard the sound from the tree. I looked up to see my sister Cassidy hidden in the tree above us. Kenneth must have looked up to, because her face turned to a strawberry red.

"Cassidy! Why are you up there?" She climbed down from the tree and stood in front of me with a smirk. She looked from me to Kenneth and then back to me.

"Mom said today is the day." She said in a tone that gave me chills.

"The day?" I asked, pulling Kenneth closer to me.

"The day she becomes one of us." Kenneth pulled away from me.

"East? What does she mean by one of us?" She looked from me to my sister.

Cassidy chuckled, her brown eyes, identical to mine, looking at her with disgust.

"Would someone please tell me what is going on?"

That when it hit. What I hadn't told her. My eyes began to tear up. I couldn't focus. All I think of was my dream. I shook my head.

"No. No." I said, my eyes shutting tightly. The dream playing though my head. I began to cry.

No. Not my Kenneth. She wouldn't become a..... a........

A monster.
