I ran after her.

"Kenneth! Ken! Ken......Don't run away from me!"

She had sprinted off into the city. A city I had never been in before, after about 10 minutes of looking, I gave up.

I walked back to the car that would take me back to the base.

Soon enough I was back. I knocked on Allan's, rebel leader/my father's, door. He opened it and looked at me and then around me. "Where is she?"

I looked down at the floor. He grabbed my shirt and pulled me in to the office and rammed me up against the wall. I winced in pain.

"WHERE IS SHE?" I looked him in the eyes.

"She is gone. She ran away from me." I admitted sadly. He let's me go with a laugh. I melted to the floor, my confidence weak. He walked over to his tall desk and took a seat.

"I told you. Easton." His words echoed in my head. 'Don't get to close to her. You have a mission.' I closed my eyes tight. A tear slide down my cheek, I was alone without my sunrise. There was no sun here to be my hope.

"Weak." I looked up at him. Why was everyone calling me weak?

I am human. I make mistakes, I cry tears.

"Back to your mission Easton. She either joins up and passes initiation or she dies in your arms. Her choice, not yours." I wiped my cheeks.

"Yes sir." I said and stood up and walked out. He knew how much I cared for Kenneth. I paused. But she had ran away from me. Did that mean she didn't love me in the first place? Was she just using me like her parents and done to her?

I collapsed. The next thing I knew I was in the back of a rebel truck with a team of four rebels around my age. And I was the leader.

We had me. The Leader.
We had Kathrine. The Weapon's Keeper.
We had Alec. The Hacker.
We had Jake. The Planner.
And Ella. The Tracker.

And they were all sitting there looking at me. Finally Kathrine spoke up.

"Ella says from the device they implanted to track Kenneth. She is in walking distance of us. If we get her on the run now and get her to agree to come with us, we will be back at the base for the meeting." I looked at her shocked.

"They implanted her!" I asked angrily. "Who, who touched her? Didn't I tell them. I told them to keep their hands off of her. Only my family was allowed near her."

Katherine stood up and walk over to me getting in my face. Then she smacked me hard across the face.

"Get your crap together Easton. We are the youngest team in the rebel base. I am not going to let Kenneth run free so our team can be demolished. Not. Going. To. Happen."

I looked at her hurt. But it was my mission. And I had never failed a mission.
