They woke up and ripped him away from me.

I couldn't help but scream, no matter how much I didn't want to.

I was cracked, shattered. I had nothing. Nothing except Easton, and now I couldn't even call him mine.

"You run home little girl. Stop trying to sabotage the man behind the mission. You think good looks, a pretty face, and a rough past gonna take you to Cloud Nine?" A girl spits at me after Easton is taken away.

I turn away from them. She slaps my face and I wince.

"It's rude to not look people in the eye." She smiles evilly. I glare at her.

"It's rude to slap people in the face." I snap. The girl clenches her fists, but one of the boys places a hand on her shoulder. He looks straight at me.

"Run." He commands me. "Run and never return. Run and know that wherever you try to hide, we will attack you. And we will attack until you break, until you become one of us."

I take a small step back.

"I will never be a rebel." I reply sternly.

"Well, Princess," the girl sneers, "You better get running. Your little Easton can't and won't save you from the attacks. He will be the attacks. It's best you run along and get prepared." My heart stops.

Eaton helps them hurt me?
He would do that?
He would do that, I remind myself. He's already done it once.
The Easton I saved.
The Easton who saved me.
The Easton I loved.
That Easton is gone.

All I have is me. I can only trust me. And me says run. So I run.

And never look back. I let the wind rush through my hair and the smells of the woods fill my nostrils. I'm an eight.

Once an eight, always an eight. The statement never changed when I met Easton.

And now with him gone, it was as if the saying had new life breathed into it.

I had to survive. Survive on my own, or die at his hands.

I love him. But not that much.

[I am sorry guys we haven't really updated. Madison got really busy with school. Some with me. But we will try our hardest to crank out some chapters for you to enjoy. Thank you for reading.]
