Chapter 2.

Gabriella rushed to get the food out serving every customer and avoiding eye contact as they gave her a knowing look when they saw a huge hickey on her neck.

"I SAW IT!" A man shouts busting into the door.

Gabriella was quite relived the attention wasn't on her anymore.

"No kidding, I saw it with my own two eyes! I swear it was, by everything holy, it was the Wondering Rust Knight, I saw out there!" The man continued as Gabriella's interest peaked.

She'd heart about the Wondering Rust Knight who walks around but never seen him before.

"No kidding, it seems like it's been on everyone's mind," another customer adds causing them to nod.

"Come on, those are just made up stories people say to scare their kids into behaving. If you don't do what I tell you, one of the Eight Deadly Sins will come for you in blood rusted armor! Woooo! Aaaaah!" Another says causing the room to laugh.

"The Eight deadly sins?" Meliodas asks standing beside her, to hold her hand.

"Man, you mean you never heard of them, young tavern owner?"

"Their wanted posters are hanging everywhere like those over there. When was it, about ten years ago?" One asked as Gabriella couldn't help but blush.

Meliodas, who was smirking grinned wider as she very well remembered 10 years ago, it was the best night of there life.

"Dozens of Holy Knights from all across the land were butchered so fast that they didn't even have time to defend themselves. And they say The Eight Deadly Sins were the ones who were responsible for it. From what I heard, the way the Holy Knights' Grandmaster was murdered... it was too gruesome for anyone to look at,"

"They say their captain, Meliodas, and his wife Gabriella are invincible when together, and is the strongest of them all, they say both together even brought down entire countries before, and Gabriella who is a beauty will steal away your lover without a blink of an eye or an explanation, who knows where they'd end up because they were never heard from again,"

"None of them have been caught yet, have they?"

"Nope, not a single one,"

This caused Gabriella to sigh as Meliodas only squeezed her hand tighter. He knows how she feels about her comrades, with Ban being her best friend, to Merlin almost being her sister, to Escanor being her brother, to Diane being her girl best friend, to King being a great friend, to Growther being the weirdo friend he was.... She didn't notice she had tears running down her face thinking of them until a pair of arms wrapped around her waist.

His face buried in her chest as she held him back.

"It's gonna be okay my love, we'll find them again I promise," he says stroking her hair.

"I'm sorry I just- I-"

"Shhh..... it's okay no need to say more I understand how you feel,"

"Meliodas," she says holding him tighter as the tears started to stop. "I love you,"

"And you know I'd always love you," he responds as they looked at each other in the eyes.

They were gonna lean in to kiss one another but a voice ruined it for them.

"Well, I heard rumors that they've been dead for years now,"

"Of course they are! The new Holy Knights will never let them live after what they've done!"

"You've got a point there,"

"With now the king sick in bed, I bet they're gonna make sure the kingdom will stay safe for all their people,"

"Do you think that's true?" Gabriella asked her husband as they were now holding hands again listening to the stories of information.

"Nah, well honestly no clue they are just rumors darling, the one rumor we know for sure is that the others aren't dead, there to strong to go down without a fight,"

"Your right Meliodas, we just have to have faith,"

"But those notices get updated every single year... doesn't that mean those eight criminals are still out there somewhere?" a random guy said disrupting the conversation.

"Well, some spooky knight walking around in rusty armor sounds pretty ridiculous to me."

"I guess you're right,"

Everyone's attention turned to the sound outside the door.

"That smells like a lot of rust to me!" Hawk appearing out of nowhere says as the door slowly opens.

As protection, Meliodas pushed his wife behind him and grabbed the hilt of the sword he carried on his back just in case this person wanted to start a fight.

"The Eight Deadly sins," it mumbles causing the tarven to panic and run away screaming 'It's here!'.

"Now who are you?" Meliodas asked still keeping Gabriella a good distance away from it, even though she was able to look over his shoulder at the scene.

The Rust Knight wobbles a little, then falls flat on his back. The helmet falls off.

"Stay here," Meliodas warns as Meliodas wanders over to see that "he" is actually a beautiful young woman with platinum silver hair. She is totally unconscious.

"Oh my God," Gabriella gasped tears in her eyes again.

"Gabriella she won't remember you, not now at least," Meliodas says as a tear fell from her eye.

"But-"

"Please behave when she awakens don't startle her,"

"Yeah..... I won't," Gabriella responds with a defeated sigh.
