"Come on hurry up!" Ella yelled at me, "Finish packing so we can go pick up Olivia!"
"I'm almost done! Just give me two more minutes!" I yelled back. I was getting ready for a sleepover at my best friend's house and I was trying to pack, but she kept yelling at me to hurry up.
"Ok, we can go now," I said, shoving the last thing into my large duffel bag.
"Finally! Come on, my mom is going to drive us over to Olivia's house now," Ella replied. We walked outside to Ella's mom's car. We got in and drove over to Olivia's house.
"Hey, guys!" Olivia said, jumping off her porch to greet us.
"Are you guys ready to have some fun?" Ella asked.
"Yeah!" Olivia and I both shouted at the same time.
"Everybody in the car," Ella's mom said. We all piled in and started talking about all of the things we were going to do that evening. We soon arrived at the house. We all got out of the car and walked up the stairs to the front door. We walked in and were greeted by Ella's two dogs, Sophie and Freddy.
"Hey, guys!" I said picking Sophie up and giving Freddy a pat on the head. We walked up the stairs to Ella's room and put our stuff down.
"What movie should we watch tonight?" Ella asked.
"How about Pacific Rim?" Olivia suggested.
"Yeah!" I agreed.
"Ok, that sounds good to me," Ella said.
"Are you girls done with your homework yet?" Ella's mom asked us.
"I have an art assignment that is due on Tuesday that I want to work a little bit on tonight so I get a head start on it," I said.
"I have to study for a social studies test on Monday," Ella said.
"And I have to finish my math homework," Olivia said.
"Ok, then you guys should get to work. I will go set up the DVD player and get out the popcorn and you all can come downstairs when you are all done with your work, or mostly done." Ella's mom said, going back down the stairs.
"Come on guys do your homework so we can enjoy the rest of this sleepover!" Ella said while all of us got out our homework.
About an hour later, Ella had studied for her test and practiced with her mom, Olivia had finished her math homework, and I had almost finished my picture. We all went downstairs to tell Ella's mom that we were finished with school work.
"Ok good. Now you guys have to go for a quick 10-minute walk, then you guys can watch a movie." Ella's mom said. We all groaned. "You guys need to get some exercise, you just sit around and be lazy. You need to get out and enjoy the fresh air!" Ella's mom said, and we agreed because we knew that we wouldn't win the argument in the end. So we put on our coats and walked outside. It was very cold outside. We walked down a few blocks to a house that we believed was haunted. We decided to take an adventure and go see what was inside. We slowly walked up the path, checking every minute to see if there was anything that we would trip over, or if anyone was watching us. We went up onto the porch and slowly creaked open the door. The house was damp and musty. It smelled like a wet dog, which is not a pleasant smell. We took out our phones, using the flashlights to cut the sheet of darkness surrounding us. The house was filled with cobwebs and the furniture was covered with dust cloths. There was a draft that ran through the house, freezing us even through our coats. We slowly started to walk through the house, watching our steps to make sure we didn't accidentally step on some dead body or something.
"Look!" Olivia exclaimed, pointing at a door that looked older and more worn than anything in the house, "I wonder where that leads to!"
"Can we go home yet?" Ella asked, not really wanting to be a part of some weird curse her friends had brought upon themselves for trespassing in a haunted house.
