Carina had returned to Bologna

Carina had returned to Bologna. Her short break in Monaco had not gone as she had hoped, in fact after her unpleasant encounter in the bathroom with Tony, the latter had decided to compete in the race and a crazy psychopath had decided to interrupt the race to try to kill him. Now if there was one thing Carina was so proud of it was her survival instinct that told her to get as far away from there as possible, and so she did.

That day the young Stark had taken advantage of the fact that she had no class at the university, so she had decided to take a tour of the city and do some shopping. She had been out all day, she could hear her swollen feet begging for mercy, so she decided to stop at a café.

"Ciao, cosa ti porto?" The waiter asked, smiling more than ever after recognizing her.
(Hi, what can I do for you?)

"Un tè freddo alla pesca con tanto ghiaccio" she said smiling.
(An iced peach tea with lots of ice)

The boy nodded and went to make his tea. The girl's attention was caught by the arrival of a message on the phone. It was James. It was since they broke up that they hadn't written each other anymore.

"Carina?"

Hearing her name being called, the girl looked up from the phone and found Daniele in front of her.

"Ciao" she said surprised that she remembered her name.

"Posso?" He asked, pointing to the chair.
(May I?)

Carina turn off the phone screen and placed it on the table.

"Certo" she smiled at him, moving the bags from the chair to make him sit down. She didn't even know what she was doing, but saying no seemed rude to her.
(Of course)

"Fatto un po' di shopping?" He asked noting the various bags.
(Did some shopping?)

"Si, beh avevo bisogno di rinnovare un po' il mio vestiario"
(Yeah, well I needed a little makeover in my clothing)

The two were interrupted by the arrival of the waiter with the cold tea.

"Grazie" the girl said.

"Porto qualcosa anche a te?" The boy asked turning to Daniele, barely holding back his enthusiasm.
(Do I bring something to you too?)

"Un tè al limone senza zucchero" Daniele said, smiling slightly.
(A sugar-free lemon tea)

The boy nodded and left.

"Spero di non averti disturbata, ma ti ho vista da lontano e ho pensato di venire a salutarti" Daniele said to Carina.
(I hope I didn't bother you, but I saw you from afar and thought I'd come and say hello)

"È stato un pensiero carino da parte tua" Carina said sincerely. Usually the people she slept with, the rare times she met them on the street, pretended they didn't even know she was.
(That was a nice thought of you)

Their first meeting was... particular and seeing him in the sunlight and totally sober had a strange effect on her.

He smiled at her and Carina had to admit that he had a really nice smile.

"Allora, come ti stai trovando a Bologna?" He asked curiously.
(So, how are you in Bologna?)

"Molto bene, la città è davvero meravigliosa" she replied, before taking a sip of her tea.
(Very well, the city is wonderful)

"Mi fa molto piacere" he said smiling slightly.
(I'm glad to hear it)

"Ecco il tuo tè" the waiter said putting Daniele's glass on the table as well.
(Here is your tea)

"Grazie" Daniele said and then handed a banknote to the boy "Tieni, pago il mio e quello della signorina. Il resto è mancia"
(Here, I pay mine and the Miss'. The rest tip)

"Grazie" he said before returning.

"Non dovevi" Carina told him, referring to her tea.
(You did not have to)

"L'altra sera non ho fatto in tempo a offrirti niente, ho voluto rimediare" he replied, raising his glass as if to make a toast.
(The other night I didn't have time to offer you anything, I wanted to make up for it)

"Se non ricordo male mi hai offerto dell'altro" she said raising her eyebrow.
(If I remember correctly, you offered me more)

"Già, forse prima avrei dovuto comportarmi come si deve e offrirti qualcosa"
(Yeah, maybe I should have acted properly first and offered you something)

"Beh, c'è sempre tempo per quello" she smiled.
(Well, there's always time for that)

"Allora brindiamo alle seconde chance" he said smiling too.
(So let's toast to second chances)

Carina raised her glass and, looking the man in the eye, made it tinkle with his.

"Alle seconde chances"
(At second chances)

"Senti, risulto troppo invadente se ti chiedo se hai da fare questa sera?" He asked.
(Look, am I being too pushy if I ask you if you're busy tonight?)

Carina smiled, she was right, he wasn't like the others and maybe that's why he attracted her so much.

"Per ora non ho programmi" she replied.
(For now I have no plans)

"Ottimo, quindi ti andrebbe di venire a cena con me?" He asked.
(Great, so would you like to have dinner with me?)

"Si, mi andrebbe" she replied, drinking some more tea.
(Yes, I would)

"Bene" he smiled.
(Good)

"E dove mi porteresti?" She asked.
(And where would you take me?)

"É una sorpresa" he said, smiling again.
(It's a surprise)

"Mmm, va bene" she said.
(Mmm, okay)

"Passo a prenderti alle otto, dove abiti?" He asked.
(I'll pick you up at eight, where do you live?)

"Via Marconi, 10"

"Ti tratti bene" he said.
(You treat yourself well)

"Ovviamente" she smiled "Ti lascio anche il mio numero, nel caso dovessi avvisarmi di qualcosa" she pulled her Stark's Industries business card with her phone number from her wallet.
(Obviously. I'll leave you my number, too, in case you warn me of anything)

He quickly put it in the pocket of his sweatpants.

"Credo allora che andrò a preparami" she said looking at her watch "Mi ci vorrà un po' per sistemare questo disastro" she said pointing to her face with the make-up she had had since that morning.
(I think then that I'll go get ready. It will take me a while to fix this mess)

"Se posso dire la mia, a me questo disastro piace parecchio" disse lui facendola sorridere leggermente.
(If I may have my say, If I can have my say, I really like this disaster)

"Adulatore... mi piace"
(Adulator... I like it)

The girl got up and retrieved the shopping bags from the floor.

"Ci vediamo dopo allora" she said leaving him a kiss on the cheek.
(See you later then)

"A dopo" he smiled.
(See you later)
