The airport was crowded with people running around, some to reach the boarding point of their plane in time, and some to hug a loved one they hadn't seen for a long time. There in the midst of all those people who were in a hurry she was sitting there waiting for the pilot of her jet to call her and to leave for her beloved Italy.
She was ready to leave, she had been waiting for that moment since she had set foot there, but her mind did nothing but think about the previous night.
FLASHBACK - TEN HOURS EARLIER
The house had all the lights out, but Carina knew that in reality her father was not sleeping and she hoped with all her heart that at that moment he was in his workshop as always, working on she did not know what.
The girl entered the house trying to make as little noise as possible, closed the door behind her, but as soon as she turned around she saw the silhouette of someone sitting on the couch in the dark.
The young Stark sighed, bored by the fact that luck was never on her side and resigned she turned on the light.
"I see that you are late. Did you have fun at the party?" Tony asked.
"You don't imagine how much"
"It's such a shame then that I haven't seen you around again after you finished dancing with your little friend" he said making her roll her eyes.
"What do you want from me Tony? Doesn't it seem a little late to start acting like a caring father?"
Then she walked to the cabinet where Tony kept the spirits, took out one and started pouring herself a drink.
"Aren't you too young to drink yet?"
"Do you really want me to answer you?" She asked, rolling her eyes.
"Look, I understand that our relationship is not the best--" Carina cut him off.
"Relationship? We don't have any kind of relationship Tony, we can legally be father and daughter, but look at the reality, we are nothing, just two complete strangers who unfortunately have the same DNA"
"Okay, I understand it. I was a jerk, I wasn't a good father, but this is about us two, you shouldn't have put other people in between"
"Other people? What are you talking about Tony, explain why I don't understand what other people have to do with it"
Tony pulled out some photos and threw them on the coffee table for Carina to see too. The young Stark approached him, placed the glass on the coffee table and took them in her hand, starting to leaf through them.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Don't try to play dumb with me, you know very well what it is"
