"WHAT'S YOUR NAME?"

Sam and Astra stood inside of the hospital waiting room before the reception desk, attempting to get Astra in for a physical exam. But as the pondering of questions came from the receptionist, Sam clenched his jaw as he responded.

"Astra. . ." Sam looked at her, but the woman stood with her eyes wide. He cleared his throat as he panicked. "Astra Winchester."

The receptionist typed her name on the computer, and Astra looked up at Sam for reassurance. The man only smiled as he glanced down at her for a moment.

"Date of birth?"

Sam looked her over quicker than he could breathe in. Judging by her appearance, she had to be no older than thirty.

He couldn't think of anything else. "January 24th, 1993."

"And your parents?"

"They're deceased." Sam lied. Even though he didn't even know if it was a lie.

The receptionist finished typing and glanced towards the door. "You can come in, the doctor will be with you soon."

Thanking the woman, Sam lead Astra towards the door that would take them to the rooms inside of the hospital. They walked down the crowded hallway until a nurse approached them.

"I'm doctor Kane, are you. . ." He glanced down at the clipboard. "Astra Winchester?"

"Yes." She responded.

"It's nice to meet you. It seems a lot of your information isn't filled out to the maximum, and your friend here mentioned you aren't from around here?"

"Yes, sir."

"All right, well let's get you into a room, and we can begin. I'm going to have you change into one of our gowns for me, and I'll meet you inside."

Sam and Astra entered the room. On the exam table was a folded hospital gown, and she walked towards the table.

Astra looked towards Sam, who cleared his throat.

"Y—Yeah, sorry."

Sam turned away to give her privacy, and Astra smiled. She appreciated the respect he always gave her.

"Thank you, for doing this." She said as she pulled her clothes off.

"Yeah, no problem." Sam said.
"Can you help me?"

Sam turned around slowly to see her in the hospital gown, but she was holding the back in her fisted hand, attempting to keep it closed. Nodding, Sam walked towards her and stepped behind her.

He was careful not to touch her, but that didn't stop him from looking. His eyes were too focused on the soft skin of her back, that appeared scarred in multiple places. His eyebrows furrowed and he stared at each scar, bewildered.

"Um." Sam quickly tied the gown shut. "There you go."

A few seconds passed, and the doctor entered.

"Are you ready, Miss Winchester?" The doctor asked. "And sir, I'm afraid that the patient is the only one allowed in during the exam. If I can have you wait in the waiting room?"

Almost fearful, Sam watched as Astra looked directly to him, like she wanted to protest. Sam's face softened, and he nodded.

"Of course. Hey, I'll just be outside, all right? If you need me."

He waited for Astra's approval, and once the girl nodded hesitantly, he smiled. He walked out of the room and back towards the waiting room.

Sam sat down in one of the unoccupied seats and pulled his phone from the pocket of his jacket. He pulled up the internet search on his phone, curious for anything he could find.
