RICHARD DIDN'T LISTEN. He walked towards the microscope and yanked the empty slides from the table. "No, do it again."

"Richard, there are six slides here, and they're all clean." He said. "She's human, she isn't anything else."

The doctor stepped away as Richard slammed his hands on the table. "I'm paying you to do this, so do it again!"

"I did what you asked me." The doctor said. "And if she loses anymore blood, she'll die. And I won't be responsible for anyone's death."

Astra's vision was fuzzy, but what she was seeing through her heavy eyes was really happening. Richard pulled a gun from his jacket and pointed it at the doctor.

"Richard, don't do this."

"You should have fuckin' done what I told you to do."

"She will die!"

Astra listened as the safety clicked off.

"So will you."

The woman gasped as Richard pulled the trigger, and the gunshot rang through the warehouse. The doctor's body fell to the floor, his blood pooling around his lifeless body.

Astra watched as he walked towards her and pointed the gun to her forehead. She choked on the gag as she cried, staring up at the man that was ready to take her life.

"Are you ready to die, freak?"

Astra listened to the sound of a gun click, and the man before her stiffened.

"She's not going to die. But you will, if you don't put down the gun."

Astra felt nauseous, but she tried to say his name beneath the gag. Sam stood behind Richard, holding the head of his gun to his back.

"My people are out there, Rick. And they're taking care of your cult as we speak. You're outnumbered now. So drop the gun, now."

Richard pursed his lips as he took a step backwards.

"I said drop the gun, now!"

Richard lifted his hands into the air in surrender before he kneeled down before her slowly. Sam's eyes met Astra's heavy ones, and his expression softened for a split second. Richard placed the gun on the floor, and Sam kicked it away.

"You got feelings for the alien, boy?" Richard asked him.

"She's not what you claim she is." Sam told him. "Her name is Astrape, she is the daughter of Zeus and the goddess of lightning."

Richard stared at Astrape as he listened to Sam's words. Piece-by-piece, he began putting it all together. The lightning as she fell from the sky, shocking him with her hands. The electrical burns on her skin.

"And she is human." Sam finished. "She was banished from her world and was stripped of her power by Zeus himself. She's human."

Richard shook his head. "That's a lot better than aliens."

Sam kept the gun pointed at him. "What?"

"A Greek goddess in modern times, walking the planet like everyone else. That will be worth more money than anything."

Richard moved, but Sam dug the head deeper. "Don't move!"

"You think you're going to kill me?"

Astra was losing more blood as they spoke.

"Then you're gonna have to try."

Richard ducked and swung his leg outward, knocking Sam off of his feet. The gun fell to the ground as Richard tried to grab the gun.
