Over much more tea, the group told Kami how they had found her and asked if she knows how she got there. "Honestly I don't know. The last thing I can remember, I was walking back to my apartment in the rain at night. I walked down the alley way and thought there was someone following me, so I started running until I blacked out. Anything after that, I don't remember," she looked down at her tea, trying to remember. "Hm," Roshi sipped his tea slowly. "Would there be someone looking for you we could try to find?" Puar asked innocently. Kami scoffed. "I don't have any family, and the only friends I have don't really care," she drank her tea. Puar apologized quietly. "Oh don't worry about it, it's for the best anyway. I tend not to trust people so they don't let me down," Kami added with a smile. "Well then, you can stay here as long as you like, I have a bedroom upstairs you can use," Roshi added, excited to have a girl at his house. "You don't turn into a maniac when you sneeze do you?" He joked.

After dinner Goku showed Kami upstairs to the room she'd be staying in. "So here it is," he opened the door. "Usually this is where I sleep when I'm here, but I can sleep in the downstairs room," he smiled and scratched the back of his head. "Oh is there another bed room down there?" She asked as she sat on the bed. Goku shook his head. "Haha no, I mean the living room," he chuckled. Kami looked up at him in confusion. "Oh no, that's not fair. If this is your room I can stay in the living room, I don't want to more of a burden than I already am," she said with a kind smile. They went on with this gentle argument for a while. "Ok fine, if you're gonna sleep on the floor you should at least sleep on the floor of your own room. It's only fair," she stated. Goku tried to argue back, but it was no use. Just like Bulma and ChiChi, she knew exactly how convince him. He smiled.

Kami decided to take a shower to clear her head, as well as the sand from her hair. She stood in the shower thinking about all of the new people she's met and trying to figure out what to do. She doesn't care to go home, there's nothing there for her anyway. Maybe she could make a new, better life in this strange and beautiful land with her new, and better friends. Finally the water starts to run cold and it was time to dry off. There is one problem however- she has no change of clothes, and she can't put on the old sandy ones she showed up in. Kami put her head in her hand and sighed out of frustration. 'How did I not think about that before my shower?' She thought, annoyed at herself. She wrapped her towel around herself, looked into the mirror and rolled her eyes before quickly walking back to the bedroom and shutting the door behind herself. She took a deep breath in, and as she exhaled she opened her eyes to see Goku standing at the other end of the room looking at her completely still. 'Could this get any worse?' She thought to herself. Goku scratched the back of his head trying to break the awkward silence. Kami couldn't speak. "If you need to borrow some clothes," he turned to the closet and reached in, "I think I left some in here." Goku pulled out an old white shirt and some blue training pants. "They'll be big on you, but it's better than nothing," he chuckled nervously. Kami tried to force a smile through her embarrassment as he handed her the clothes and left the room. As soon as he was gone and the door was shut, Kami threw herself face down on the bed. 'Why couldn't I speak? That didn't have to be so terribly awkward, he was just trying to help,' she thought to herself as she put on his clothes.

Kami laid on the bed and stared at the ceiling as she cringed at what had just transpired. A few moments later there was a light knock at the door, so she got up and opened it. "Ready for bed?" Goku asked in a playful tone and he walked in and set up his mat on the floor. Kami shut the door behind him and smiled as she sat on the edge of the bed. "Are you sure you want to sleep down there?" She asked one more time. Goku looked at her as he stood holding a blanket that was clearly way too small for him. "Goku look at that blanket," she said as she crossed her arms. He looked down at the blanket in his hand. "It's way too small! It won't even cover half of you," she joked. "Don't worry about that, I don't usually use one anyway," he sat on the sleeping mat which was also clearly way too short for him. "What about the mat?" She asked now looking down at him from the bed. He looked around him and laughed. "Yeah I guess it's too small, huh?" Kami rolled her eyes as she toyed with him. "I'm only gonna ask you one more time," she started. Goku shook his head. "Alright," Kami teased as she laid down. They both lay in silence for a while, neither one really able to fall asleep. "Tell me about your home land," Goku broke the silence. Kami turned over to look down at him. She sighed and invited him to sit on the bed with her.

"Where I'm from, there are lots of bad people. I'm from a big crowded city, and the more people in a city the more crime there is," Kami started. She told him about big city life, about her job at a run down restaurant, and about her shitty expensive apartment building. "So that's basically it. Nothing exciting, nothing magical, nothing beautiful," she gave a fake smile. "Do you think you'll ever go back?" Goku asked softly. She fell silent for a moment. "To be honest with you, no I don't think I will. I wanted to leave for a long time, but it was too expensive. Plus I don't have any family or friends there anyways so what's the point you know?" Goku just looked at her with kind understanding eyes. "Well there's always room for more here," he said with a big cheesy grin. Kami smiled and yawned. Goku started to get up. "Goku-," Kami started nervously. He stopped and looked at her. "This bed is pretty big, don't you think?" He nodded. "So, you could probably sleep up here too, instead of on the floor," she added. Goku smiled, and promptly fell asleep. Kami laid there for a while trying to clear her mind, and eventually fell asleep too.
