William pushed open the door and slipped in, looking for his brother. He knew he'd be off to the side and made a beeline once his eyes zoned in on the youngest prince. "Excuse me. Sorry." He apologized as he pushed his way through the crowd and up to his brother. "Chandler!"
Chandler looked up at William. "William?" He asked, surprised. He searched his brother's face and noticed there was something different about him. "What do you need?" He skeptically asked, eyeing his brother.
William didn't waste a moment before replying. "Take Peony and go to Jayme's parent's chateau. I don't care how long it takes to find me anything to get out of this marriage. I'll stall for as long as I'll make up any excuses to where you've gone. Just please." He begged, grabbing his younger brother's hands.
Chandler was flabbergasted. What could have happened for him to beg his brother to go do the thing he told him not to. "Slow down, come again? You want Yohan and I to go look for anything that can get you out of the marriage?" He repeated. What had happened for William to change his mind
Yohan was thinking the same thing. William was acting quite differently. He seemed panicked and stressed, more so than when he first arrived. "You're acting very weird. Care to explain the change of heart?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
William sighed heavily. He promised himself he wouldn't tell anyone but he knew he could trust the two boys. "I can't go through with the marriage tomorrow which is why I need you to find anything, maybe even forge something. Just something to buy me time and then we can use that time to look more if you need it." He pleaded to his brother and Yohan.
Chandler could see how genuine William was being. He seemed to truly want out of the marriage and who was he to deny him that. "Alright, alright. Yohan and I will leave right now to go and look. It will take us an hour or so to reach there but we will try our very best." He placed his hand on his brother's shoulder.
Taileiah placed her hands on her hips and stood behind William. "Try your very best, what?" She wondered what they were speaking about. She did notice he had brushed past her hastily and had come from somewhere. Now he was here talking to his brother?
William turned towards the dark-haired girl, a relieved look growing on his face. "Taileiah! Good. Would you mind going with Yohan and Chandler to help them look?" He asked, his eyes pleading with her to say yes. He needed all the help he could get.
Taileiah was confused at first about what he meant. Then it slowly dawned on her what was going on. "Oh, is this about finding something to stop the marriage?" She asked, earning a nod from William. "Sure. I can help. The ball is boring anyways and not my forte. Can you let Jayme know where I've gone?"
William nodded. He was going to tell his best friend what they were doing. Plus he needed Jayme to help him with a few things. "Sure can. Just please, don't spare a moment longer. I'm counting on you." He was putting his whole future into their hands in something that possibly didn't exist.
Chandler hugged his brother for a brief moment and ruffled his hair. "You won't be disappointed. I promise we will find something!" He told him before rushing out of the side door, Yohan and Taileiah following behind him.
Yohan glanced at his parents who seemed preoccupied. Mingmei was nowhere to be seen. Akira and Daiyu were dancing. A thought had popped into his head. "Wait, we all can't fit on one horse!" He called running after the young prince.
William took a deep breath and watched them go. He clutched his chest at the tight feeling growing there. "Deep breaths William, deep breaths." He reminded himself, going off to find Jayme. He needed to focus on the task at hand and Jayme was the next person he needed to speak with. "Jayme!" He exclaimed, laying his eyes on his friend.
