Mantah part 1

Ben and Brooklynn looked in as Brooklynn's father was getting medical treatment. "He got shot in the spine and in the stomach, he's lucky to still be alive." Ben said looking at the medical files.

"Yeah but I got shocked repeatedly and yet I'm still standing." Brooklynn said in reply.

"Fair point." Ben answered. "But what interests me the most is who called the Tokyo shatterdome about what was happening here, and how." Ben added.

Brooklynn rubbed her chin thinking of an answer and Ben couldn't help but be reminded of in the original timeline when Brooklynn was deep in thought she would do the exact same motion. "I can't think of anyone or anything." Brooklynn said giving up.

"Well I can think of one thing that could. Mantah Corp." Ben said and Brooklynn looked at him like he was crazy.

"Why would they have anything to do with me?" Brooklynn asked.

"Your claws for starters." Ben said and Brooklynn then looked up at him wide eyed.

"H-how did you know?" Brooklynn asked.

"You aren't very secret about it in the first place." Ben pointed out and Brooklynn brushed a strand of hair behind her ear in embarrassment.

"My dad told me that whenever I threw a fit as a baby that I would grow a tail and claws like a dinosaur. I didn't believe him until one day I woke up with dinosaur hands after I messed up on track the day before." Brooklynn said.

"And let me guess you were pretty freaked out by your hands suddenly being that of a Dinosaur's?" Ben asked and Brooklynn nodded and blushed slightly.

"Yeah." She murmured however Ben could hear her as clear as day however he heard his comm unit turn on suddenly.

"Benjamin Hansen do you read me over?" A familiar voice crackled over the radio.

"Kenji?" Ben asked in reply.

"Who else would it be Striker boy?" Kenji asked giving Ben a nickname. He personally liked it.

"Where are you?" Ben asked.

"Mantah Corp's island. Located a few miles away from the Meruta archipelago, and something bad is going down here. I need you and the others here. Now." Kenji said and Ben raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"Why?" Ben asked.

"Because Mantah Corp is building their own Jaeger suits, designing their own hybrids, and hosting dinosaur fights." Kenji said and Ben's eyes widened in shock.

"Brooklynn we need to go. Now." Ben said.

"What? Why?" Brooklynn asked.

"I'll explain later." Ben said as he rushed out of the hospital and Brooklynn followed suite.

Ben requested for a Jumphawk helicopter and he climbed into it as it landed nearby and Brooklynn followed soon after. "So explain, now." Brooklynn demanded and Ben let out an audible sigh.

"Basically Kenji just told me that Mantah Corp are designing Jaeger suits, creating hybrids, and hosting dinosaur fights." Ben explained.

"And you trust him?" Brooklynn asked suspiciously.

Ben wanted to say "with my life" but he didn't. "I do." Ben stated.

Brooklynn shot a dark look at him but Ben ignored her as the helicopter took off towards the Tokyo shatterdome.

When the helicopter landed at the shatterdome Ben walked up to marshal Bennett. "What's the matter Ranger?" Marshal Bennett asked concerned.

"The call was a distraction. But I have reason to believe that Mantah Corp is behind the call." Ben said and marshal Bennett muttered something under his breath but he didn't hear it.

"I knew something was off. Now we have a signal of a category III on an island near the Meruta archipelago." Marshal Bennett said.

"It's not just that sir, they are hosting illegal dinosaur fights and designing their own Jaeger suits." Ben said and marshal Bennett facepalmed.

"I want all Jaeger suits prepared for deployment! And contact all other shatterdome's and tell them to repair for deployment!" Marshal Bennett ordered as his second in command nodded and ran towards the comm centre between shatterdome's.

"What about her?" Ben said gesturing to Brooklynn who just stood in place awkwardly.

"I can help, but you're not putting me in one of those tin cans. No offence to the Jaeger suits by the way." Brooklynn said and marshal Bennett nodded silently.

"I think I know how she can help." Jake said walking up to marshal Bennett and Ben as he looked over at Yasmina.
