Reunion part 1

Ben and Ben separated from their hug and Brooklynn looked at him as she noticed that he looked like he hasn't had a good sleep for a while. "What happened to you?" Brooklynn asked.

"A lot of late night deployments." Ben said simply and with a chuckle.

"I've heard that there are now category III hybrids appearing now." Brooklynn said and Ben nodded.

"Yeah they are but they are also starting to try and take down Jaeger suits with them." Ben said.

"How many have been destroyed?" Brooklynn asked worryingly.

"None so far but single Jaeger suit deployments have almost been completely restricted." Ben said.

"How's Kenji been?" Brooklynn then asked and Ben chuckled softly.

"He somehow tripped over a flat surface when piloting November Ajax." Brooklynn facepalmed while giggling softly.

"And the others?" Brooklynn asked.

"Haven't heard much from them actually, but I have heard from Sammy that she's still attempting to get into Biology class still." Ben said shrugging simply. "Yasmina is still posting on social media still." Ben added.

"No surprise there." Brooklynn said however Ben got a call suddenly.

"Hello?" Ben asked as he answered and he got a look of worry on his face.

"What is it?" Brooklynn asked.

"A hybrid has been detected, I'm needed back at the shatterdome." Ben said as he turned to leave.

"Good luck!" Brooklynn called out and Ben smirked to himself.

"I'll be needing it." He answered back as the sports car picked him up again and drove back to the shatterdome.

Were he shortly suited up into his dive suit and lager Striker eureka, were the drift was then initiated. The drift was a new form of technology that allowed the Jaeger suit's pilot to activate weaponry without an AI.

However it required the pilot to relieve their memories and could case random access brain impulse triggers or the RABIT. They were told just to let the memories flow by.

Ben himself only chased the RABIT once however it was only due to him latching onto the memory of the Scissure attack. He also noticed Kenji was suited up as well in November Ajax as the drift was initiated.

Ben let the memories wash over him and immediately after Kenji waved to him slightly as the two were deployed. "Gentlemen." The voice of Stacker Pentecost greeted them.

"Marshal Pentecost good to hear you." Ben said over the comm unit.

"You will both be intercepting the category III codenamed Knifehead, your orders are to hold the coastline. Do not engage unless absolutely necessary." The marshal said and the two nodded understanding the mission briefing.

The two Jaeger suits were dropped off the coast of a Anchorage beach alongside Gipsy danger. "Sir there is still a civilian fishing vessel in the ocean." The pilot for Gipsy danger, Raleigh becket said over the comm unit.

"Ranger you are protecting a city of two million people you cannot risk them to save a boat carrying ten." Pentecost said in reply and Raleigh turned off the comm unit.

"I'll go save the boat, you two stay back and defend the city." Raleigh said as Gipsy started to walk into the ocean.

"Raleigh! Don't be stupid!" Ben shouted at the mark III pilot as Gipsy walked into the ocean and towards the boat.

Which at the moment was catching fish when a signal appeared on the radar. "What the hell is that?" The first mate asked.

"It's getting closer." The captain muttered as then the radar system showed it getting closer and closer. The captain then released what it was. "Oh no." He murmured as then a massive nineteen foot tall hybrid emerged from the ocean with a tremendous roar.

The hybrid had a Tyrannosaurus like build with long Spinosaurus like arms that ended in razor sharp three fingered claws. It had a sail on it's back that looked like that of a backwards shark fin.

It's face was like that of a Majungasaurus with a long frontward facing head crest shaped like a knife blade. Knifehead's teeth looked like that of a Tyrannosaurus and a Crocodile's. Knifehead's tail however was like that of a Shark's and a Tyrannosaurus' at the same time.

However that's when the foghorn of a Jaeger suit would be heard as well as Gipsy emerged from the darkness and punched Knifehead in the face.

The category III stumbled backwards from the blow sending waves of water towards the fishing boat. Knifehead slashed Gipsy on the shoulder pad with it's claws.

Gipsy danger then powered up it's I-19 plasma caster on Gipsy's left arm and prepared to fire the weapon at Knifehead. Gipsy then fired the plasma caster into Knifehead's chest twice and prepared to fire a third time, however the hybrid lost it's stance. Arm's flailed as it fell backwards into the ocean and sank bellow the waves. "Ranger you disobeyed a direct order!" Pentecost shouted at Raleigh over the comm unit.

"It's a job well done sir, the threat is neutralized." Raleigh said in reply as November Ajax and Striker eureka arrived shortly after.

"Hybrid signature rising! The devils not dead!" Tendo choi exclaimed from inside LOCCENT.

"Rangers get out of there! I repeat get out of there now!" Pentecost exclaimed as Knifehead burst from the ocean roaring and it slashed Gipsy danger on the chest plate.

Raleigh attempted to fire the I-19 however Knifehead clamped it's jaws down on the weapon and started to rip into it and Raleigh's arm.

Knifehead then proceeded to rip the armour plating of the left forearm plating off and throw it aside into the ocean and then pin Gipsy up against an iceberg were it continued to rip into the Jaeger suit.

November Ajax charged forward towards the category III SR-7 taser fists activated. Knifehead ripped it's claws into the right side of the conn pod helmet and threw the metal plating aside along with the drift core.

Raleigh screamed in agony and proceeded to activate the other I-19 plasma caster and fire it into Knifehead's chest repeatedly as November Ajax punched Knifehead twice.

However was smacked aside by the category III's tail. That's when Striker would rush into the fight as fast as the mark V possibly could sting blades activated.

Striker slashed Knifehead repeatedly on the legs, back, and tail attempting to get it away from Gipsy danger.

That's when the sound of an overloaded plasma caster firing would be heard as Knifehead screeched in pain and fell backwards and died for sure.

Raleigh almost fell face first into the ocean however Ben caught him and propped him up against his shoulder. Gipsy looked like it just crawled through hell.

It's right arm was ripped up and Raleigh had the scars to prove it, a section of his dive suit had been ripped out along with the forearm and Raleigh had a cut on his face from Knifehead when it ripped into the conn pod helmet.

Kenji placed Raleigh's over arm over his shoulder as he helped him walk as they returned to shore. On a beach a man and his son were using a metal detector trying to find things however the sensor picked up something large.

Gipsy danger walked weakly towards the shore, Raleigh refused to close his eyes in fear of falling into the ocean face first and being unable to get up.

November Ajax and Striker eureka were close behind him as he used his right arm to stop his fall as he fell into the snow. Raleigh heard the man scream for someone to call out for first responders and he blacked out momentarily, blood in his vision.

Raleigh lifted his left arm weakly and noticed that it had several long cuts in it and he clenched his fist hard despite the pain as he blacked out again.
