Uneasy and filled with countless negative emotion, he dismissed the axe as the wolf fell over and began to disappear. Before he had the chance to do anything, she grabbed his shoulder. "Was..." she was mumbling, she took a second to form the sentence. "Was it someone else?" finishing the sentence. His silence spoke words to her. "I-" he was interrupted as she grabbed his arm. "Was it?!" she belted at him.
"It didn't feel like me, yet I was there.... unable to do anything." he responded, looking away from her. "It felt like I was watching through someone else's eyes." he followed up. She gripped his arm tighter, trying to get a straight answer. "I can't exactly explain it! They weren't my actions, that's all I know." he yelled out. She let go of him and moved away, putting her hand in the pocket of the hoodie.
"Let's...move from here. The smell is gonna make me sick." she murmured. He stopped her by summoning the axe in front of her. "There might be more of these things, wolves don't hunt alone. Even if it is a monstra." he said as he walked towards the door. "I can fight too." she called out to him, fist clenched. He looked carefully into the hallway as he signaled her to stop with his hand.
As he looked up, he saw one of the wolves standing on the ceiling. He jumped back into the room as it jumped down at him. He punched it into the wall, making cracks in it. He followed up by swinging the axe from under and cutting through its torso. "Don't fight, you'll be using up unnecessary power. Rest." he spoke out to her as he checked the hallway again.
She moved forward with him, he signaled her to stop again. A loud howl was heard from the outside, the two looked at each other immediately. He put his axe down as he asked "Hey...is it even worth fighting?" a slight smile on his face. The wind blew through the hallways and reached the two. "There's...nothing to go back to." he followed up. She paused for a second as she looked to the side.
"They'd want us to continue." she answered. "I'm not giving up so easily." she continued. He sighed as he closed his eyes and raised his eyebrows. "Well, I'll go see what that noise was about." he said as he grabbed the air and moved his arm back. Before anything happened, she grabbed onto his shirt.
The two appeared outside, snow still falling. "Why?" he yelled out as he saw her there. He looked behind him to see a 15-foot wolf, it had one scarred white eye and a few weapons dug into it's back. Its sharp claws were barely visible due to the snow they dug into. There he stood, a 17 year-old boy, ready to fight a wolf more than double his size. He gripped the axe as he stood in front of her.
He pointed forward with his arm, his body firm. Another him suddenly appeared, a clone, it ran forward with a duplicate of the axe in his hand. The wolf swiped at him with his paw as the clone jumped up, evading it. The wolf moved back to evade a swing from the axe and jumped forward to hit the clone back. As his duplicate fell on the ground, he threw the axe towards the wolf who was regaining its stance.
He controlled its trajectory, it dug into the wolf's neck and barely did anything to it. As she stood behind him, she put her hand forward. A soft blue light appeared, she was trying to create something; a spirit. As it began to take shape, she blacked out as smoke emitted from her arm. She fell aside on the snow as the spirit she was creating faded away. The sound of the snow silencing the noise of her fall, he ran forward and jumped up to evade a second swipe from its paws. He recalled the axe which caught him mid air as he began riding it through the air, almost like a snowboard.
He kept aiming one hand at the axe to control its trajectory. He aimed his other hand at the wolf, yet only a spark of electricity appeared. He sighed in frustration as he grabbed the axe from under him, using the built-up momentum to fly towards the wolf. It opened its mouth to bite him, he was moving faster than it. As the axe dug into the side of its mouth, he began to freeze the point of contact.
He moved the axe out roughly, shattering anything that was frozen. She looked up at the wolf, her hair completely changed from black to brown. Her blue eye color switched places with the orange from the hoodie. The wolf, blood dripping out of its mouth, moved back as he now stood tired on the ground, looking directly at it. His breath visibly heavy, he grabbed up the axe. "Is that really your limit?" spoke out a voice in his head.
He looked both ways, panting. It wasn't a voice he recognized, at least, it wasn't the other him. He ignored it as he looked back at the wolf who was running at him again. He dropped the axe as electricity ran through his arms. He started to charge himself up as lightning landed on him. She looked up at him, standing. He began to float up, still charging.
Just as the wolf was about to bite down on him, he let out all the energy he had charged up, alongside a scream. A bright flash occurred as she covered her face. When she looked back over, the wolf was gone entirely as he was kneeling on the ground. He tried getting up with the help of the axe, but he fell forward, unable to do anything.
