She stood behind him as he laid on the ground, the snow still falling and the axe right beside him. The axe disappeared as his breathing got slower. She looked at her hands as she noticed this. She lifted the hoodie to look at the scar once again. She closed her eyes and sighed before proceeding to turn him around. He looked at her, his eyes surprised.

"I should end your life right here and now." she said as she reached her hand out to help him up. His voice weak and his words slow, he responded "Are you the other one?".

She stopped reaching her hand out as her expression changed. "That...really wasn't you then." she responded in realization. She proceeded to grab him up and put his arm over her shoulder to help him walk. "Sor-" he was about to speak before she interrupted him by saying "Explain later, shut up for now."

They walked around a corner to what she now realized was a castle and noticed a hole in the wall. She started walking a bit faster and went inside it. Now inside, she looked around to notice they were in a storage room. She spotted the door and rushed through it with him.

A long dark hall was the only thing she could see as the wind got stronger. She closed the door behind her with her other arm and proceeded to create a small flame in her hand. Still unable to see much she walked slowly through the hall with him holding on to her shoulder. She noticed another door.

"You should probably find a room without me. You can always come back." he muttered. "No, it's better when I know where you are." she responded with a cold tone.

He began coughing as his body heat was lowering. "Seriously...you don't need to carry me." he reiterated. "I said no! I still need an explanation from you. I know you're trying to find an excuse to dip out on me." she yelled out. "I can't leave you alone, not now. We are way too far from civilization for me to leave you alone." he reassured her. "I don't care. I'm not her." she stated.

She opened a door revealing a slightly decorated room with a few beds. She walked over to a bed and set him down there. "Don't fall asleep." she said strictly. She walked over to a nightstand which had a candle on it and with her fire, she lit it up. She snuffed the fire in her hand and carried over the candle to light up the other ones. The room now with a more than dim light, seemed to be a guest room. She sat in the bed next to him as an awkward silence filled the air.

"Listen, I need you to confirm it wasn't you." she spoke, breaking the silence. He chuckled as his eyes watered up. "How?" he responded. "I-" she was about to say. "You may never trust me again after that. They died because I was unable to do anything, because me and him failed them." he yelled out as he broke down entirely.

The facade he had put up beforehand had been shattered in her eyes. "Tell me, what can I even do for both of you?" he cried out. "I-" she tried responding. He sat up as his arms started emitting smoke faintly.

She looked at him worried as he grabbed her arms. "I...I'm so sorry, I couldn't help any of them. I let someone you care about die, I tarnished what he promised." he kept on. "I...It's fine. It wasn't you." she tried reassuring him, now completely sure of that herself. "No! It's not! People are dead because of me!" he cried out once again. She moved her arms out of his grasp and wrapped them around him. "It's fine! Let's just take things one step at a time." she said to console him. His breathing began to get sporadic as his vision was blurry. He also wrapped his arms around her as he began to cry on her shoulder. "I'm sorry." he muttered as she took a deep breath.
