He took in a deep breath again and opened his eyes. "Let's go get food, I'll deal with this later..." he remarked. As he was about to get up, she stopped him. "There were people in the area earlier. Sit this out for a moment." she told him.
He took a second to respond but sat back down. "Are we staying here?" he asked.
She looked at him, as if the answer was obvious. "Well yeah, we can't go anywhere else with people who seem keen on killing us nearby." she responded.
"No...I mean after this is over. Are we gonna go anywhere else? Do we stay here? Do we just wait for nature to take us?" he asked, looking down. He noticed she still held his hand. She noticed as well and the two moved their hands away.
She cleared her throat before speaking. "I...I don't know. Let's just take everything one day at a time. Let's solve this first and do whatever is more comfortable after 'kay? ." she responded.
He laughed quietly and covered his mouth. "Who would have thought any of this would happen...?" he asked, not really waiting for a response.
She looked up at the roof and then back at him. He took yet another deep breath, his expression changed and thunder was heard outside.
"So if you're just an alter...What was your deal with him?" he asked, curious about her answer.
She looked to her other hand, where she was holding her phone. Her screen lit up, showing the picture of the person he referred to alongside her other self.
She took a deep breath this time. "He meant something to her. To me... I don't mind him....didn't mind him. Sorta." she looked out through the window for a second. "What was your deal with her then?" she asked.
He looked up at the roof, thinking for a moment. "I had started getting interested in her ...then ...everything happened." he said, eyes closed.
"You? With someone who seemed so delicate?" she scoffed.
"Who do you think I am?" he asked in response to the remark.
She stared at him for a second. "You fought a GOD, you stared down death multiple times... You killed a goddess from another realm!" she answered him. He sighed in response.
"I wasn't really in control this whole time." he said. "I said this before I'm pretty sure...I just felt pure anger for no reason and acted on it." he continued.
She looked to the side without moving her head. "Well, whoever you really are... we'll have to survive this together." she replied. "Yeah, let's hope things are calm now." he followed up. The two stared at the wall for a solid minute.
"Hey, do you think this is the eye?" she asked him. He looked at her confused.
"Huh?" he asked.
"So you know how in a hurricane or a storm there's this calm period?" she answered.
He held the bridge of his nose with two fingers. "Knock on wood please. I just want to rest for a decade after all this." he replied to her.
