The window looked like it could crack any second, he stood by it. She grabbed his shoulder again, trying to get his mind off everything. He looked back, his eyes tired.
"How long have you been followed?" she asked the man.
He looked up at the roof while preparing a meal. "Not long after you left...I shifted to a lot of places, none of those seemed to be safe." he responded.
He looked out through the window again. "How exactly do you know this house is safe?" he asked, his eyes looking directly at something outside. The man looked over at him, his attention still on the thing outside. The man looked past the boy and through the window. He also noticed what the boy looked at. The man immediately dropped everything and turned off the stove.
"It isn't." said the man, his expression completely different. He put his hand out and moved it down, creating a doorway to somewhere else. Out of the blue, the roof of the house was broken as a bladed weapon cut the man's arm. The doorway closed as the man moved back in pain. The boy summoned the axe from before and the girl quickly created a wolf familiar. A hooded figure came down from the hole in the roof. The person grabbed the weapon that was dug into the ground. It was a Balisword.
The man, in terrible pain, summoned a greatsword from thin air and held it forward with one hand. The boy jumped over a countertop and swung the axe down at the hooded person. The sound of metal being hit was heard even outside. The figure had blocked the attack.
The boy charged electricity through his weapon which hurt the figure. The two moved away from each other, the man swung the greatsword down. Tears in his eyes, he hit the floor as the figure moved to the side. The girl sent the wolf familiar forward, it bit the figures arm, holding the person in place.
The boy threw the axe forward with all of his strength. It went through the person's chest and kept going even after that. The person hit the ground and began to disappear. Someone else walked through the door and quickly grabbed the girl. It was a man.
He restrained her in a chokehold, the familiar began disappearing as she tried to get away from him. The man and the boy looked back quickly. Another person jumped down from the hole in the roof and ran a blade through the man. The boy looked back quickly, now in the middle of everything.
"My, my Mr. Yakudatsu. How dumb of you to come back to this place." the person who jumped down spoke. It was a girl's voice. The man fell to the ground, looking at the boy's direction, trying to mutter something. The boy was good at reading lips, he understood what the man was trying to say.
"And who are you two? More of his casualties?" the girl with the weapon asked. The boy stayed quiet as his eyes turned black while his pupils turned white. "Oh? So you're one of the interesting ones." she said, smiling. She kneeled where the two people had been struck down, her face turning red. She seemed excited as her eyes lit up.
The boy jumped the countertop again. He rolled past her, grabbing something on his way. He put his hands together as if breaking something between them. He looked at the man holding the girl and the one with the weapon. The girl with the weapon quickly turned, throwing said weapon in his direction. The boy moved to the side, quickly dodging it. The girl then ran towards him and knocked him on his back. She sat on top of him as she held him down.
"You definitely are one of the interesting ones..." she laughed. The boy tried to get her off, but she seemed to be stronger even with being smaller than him. She held his arm down making him unable to use the axe. She moved her face closer to his.
The other man was still holding onto Her. She was squirming a lot, so he stopped holding her in a chokehold and pushed her into the wall next to him and held her arms behind her with a lot of strength. The boy took noticed and tried getting the other girl off of him with even more strength. "Really? Is that all you got?" she laughed again. "You'll be so fun to mess around with."
The girl moved her hand and summoned another wolf familiar which quickly bit the man's leg, giving her an opening. The man let her go and tried to kick the wolf. The wolf disappeared beforehand, the girl created a sword from that same power and thrust it through his head, his blood landing on her face. The girl sitting on top of the boy took notice and let her guard down as well. The boy pushed her off and quickly ran past her.
He ran over to the girl and grabbed her arm, the two ran outside. He put his arm forward and just like the man from before created a doorway to somewhere else. The two quickly ran through it and stopped at a wall in front of them. They looked back through the doorway, he closed his hand into a fist, and it closed entirely. The two took a deep breath, She was on him as she was still looking back at where the doorway was.
The boy began panicking, his breathing was off. They were back in the room from before. "Why?! Why us?!" he yelled out. She held his hand tight. "Listen-" "After all the help he gave us before! This is how we repay him?! By letting him die?!" he interrupted her. She put her hand on his cheek and moved his face towards her, his eyes filled with all the grief he tried to let go. "Dude! Listen. It wasn't our fault. He was being chased already." she stated.
He closed his eyes and tried breathing normally. She put her arms around him and brought him closer. "Let's just take a minute to clear our minds." she said before moving her head up again. "I never did tell you my name...did I?" she asked. He shook his head, as to say no. "It's Tori. Good to actually meet you, Argos."
