The knocking on the apartment door draws Solace from her slumber with a groan, "Jackson." She reaches out blindly, hitting the mans arms, "Door."
She hears him grumble as he gets up, knowing he answered the door when the knocking stops. Solace assumes he's telling whoever it is to go away, so she's confused when he comes in to shake her awake, "Solace, gets up."
"No." She pulls the blanket up, only for the man to pull it away from her.
"My mother is standing in the living room waiting for us." He informs her, "Up and get some pants on."
"Oh god." Solace sits up, wide awake now, "Mama Avery is going to kill us."
Jackson nods, "And I don't really feel like dying alone today, so, up and at 'em, lovely."
Once they're both presentable, the stumble out of their shared room, walking into the living room where the ever elegant Cathrine Avery is standing, looking at some of the framed pictures on the shelves. She turns when she hears them come out, "So sorry to drop by unannounced. But considering you are both unemployed now, I figured you weren't busy."
"Mom—"
"—Cathrine"
Catherine holds her hand up, "Nope. You two sit. Now."
The both of them sit on the couch like they're told, as if they were scolded children. Cathrine looks over to Solace, a small smile on her face, "How are you, darling? Feeling well?"
Solace glances at Jackson before answering, "Uh, yeah. I'm good. More tired and aggravated lately, but, I'm good."
"And my gran baby?"
"He's very healthy." Solace nods.
Cathrine smiles, "Good." Her smile drops as her face becomes more serious, "Now why did I have to be informed, that my son and future daughter in law, that are having my gran baby in a few months, quit their jobs?"
"Mom—"
"—Cathrine""What were you two thinking?"
Jackson sighs, "Mom. We have a plan, okay? Stay out of it."
"Stay out of it?" She looks as if he offended her, "Jackson Avery you did not just tell me to 'stay out of it'. I am your mother, which means I will always be 'in it'."
"Well, you are not in this." Jackson gestures between him and Solace, "We have a plan for our futures. Thank you for your concern but it's not necessary."
Solace tilts her head, "Also, uh, I'm just Jackson's girlfriend, not uh—"
"Oh, shush." Cathrine waves her off with an eye roll, "You will get married and you will like it. I wont hear it. Whether it's a few months from now or 10 years from now."
