Sometimes you just need to get out of town, get a new perspective. But you can't always see that you need a new perspective because you, well, need a new perspective to be able to see that. It's complicated."Your mother has called me 5 times this morning, Jackson. For the love of all that is holy, call her." Solace bumps his shoulder as she grabs one of the charts from the nurses station.
Jackson smiles over at her, finding her frustration cute, "She's your mother too now."
"Not funny." Solace huffs. Jackson looks over to her, "Hey, where'd you ru off to this morning?"
"What?" Solace questions, "I came here."
"Yeah, I figured that but your name wasn't on the board and there weren't any 911 pages for you." Jackson frowns, "Did something happen?"
"No," Solace shakes her head, "Just thought I'd get some paper work done, it's over taking my locker. Take my mind off your mother. She won't stop badgering me about wanting us to have a 'proper wedding'."
"Like your fathers aren't badgering me?" Jackson's raises a brow, making the girl roll her eyes, "No, they aren't, they're also badgering me. Well, dad is. Papa is just trying to stay out of it."
"They're just feeling left out." Jackson tries to supply.
Solace sighs, leaning her head on his shoulder, "I know, but it's our life, and we've been married for 3 months now, they've had plenty of time to get over it. We didn't want the spectacle. And I love our parents, but everything is a spectacle when they're involved."
Jackson brings the girl into his chest, rubbing her back softly as he kisses the top of her head, "Why don't you tell them they can plan Finn's 1st birthday party? That way they have something to focus on."
"And subject our one year old child to carnival rides and bounce houses?" Solace pulls back to look at him, "It would be an even bigger party than if we just let them throw us a wedding."
"Yes." Jackson nods, "But the attention won't be on you and you still get to eat cake."
Solace pauses, thinking about it for a second, before smiling and giving her husband a sweet kiss on the lips, pulling out her phone as she leaves his embrace, "You, my darling husband, are a genius."
"So I've been told." He smiles, watching her as she turns down the hall, phone in hand and texting away. He hears a scoff behind him, breaking him from his stupor.
"You two make me sick."
Jackson just laughs, patting Alex on the shoulder as he grabs his chart, walking away and throwing over his shoulder, "You'll grow up one day, Karev."

"Just like that?" Cristina questions the girl over the phone, "I mean, they were there for maybe 10 minutes."
