"IS THAT HIM?..."

Mikasa raised an eyebrow until her face was washed with realization. You smiled at her, staring at the canvas in front of you. Mikasa corrected this portrait many times, just to get every feature perfect for Eren. Mikasa sat next to you on her bed, staring at the portrait herself. He looks so genuine in the painting.

"Oh, this old thing? I did it a couple months ago. I recently just fixed it up."

You hummed, admiring the oil-based work, "Maybe you can paint me one day."

Mikasa just nodded, putting a blanket over the canvas. You looked around her room, glancing at a few pictures of her and other memorabilia. You noticed something stick out from under the bed and gasped. You army crawled under the bed, so only your legs were sticking out.

Mikasa turned around after listening to your incoherent mumbles and some words. Her eyes averted toward your waist as your shirt lifted up a little. You grunted as you scooted back into the bright room.

"You misplaced this?"

"You found it!" she exclaimed, a small smile appearing on her face.

"I love how your attitude disappeared."

Mikasa brushed off what you said and stared at you as you stared back. Mikasa lifted the camera up to her eyes and clicked on the button, causing you to be blinded by a bright flash. You blinked a little, pouting as she laughed at your reaction.

"Hey, that wasn't fair." Mikasa burst into laughter. She never knew that a stranger she met in a coffee shop would make her this happy. She looked down at you, but the camera was in her face.

Snap!

You looked at the printed picture as she pouted. You grinned and shook your head, "You look beautiful."

Mikasa took the camera from your hand and whined out a stop. You glanced at her as she took another picture of you. You grabbed the camera from her grip, threw it onto the bed, and grabbed it from her waist. You pushed her bangs out of her eyes.

"Non vedo l'ora di poterti baciare."

Mikasa gave you a confused stare at your sudden words. She felt your body press closer to her until the door opened. Eren started mumbling about how there was a car in his spot.

He had dark circles under his eyes, and his body slouched over, like he was going to fall. Mikasa hated the fact that she missed your warmth as you moved straight up.

"Who is this?"

He glanced at you curiously. He felt intimated by the way you looked at him. Like you wanted to devour him. You gave him a small smile while holding out your hand.

"Y/N, it's so nice to meet you, Eren." He took your hand and shook it slowly.

"Don't be afraid. I don't bite. Hard."

Eren grabbed Mikasa out of the room, so you couldn't hear them. You pushed your ear against the door, also getting a good view of the speaker. You stared at them through the crack as they spoke silently, watching Eren's gestures.

You can hear a few sentences like 'I don't like the way she looks at you' or 'You just met her. How can you trust her quickly?' You can tell Mikasa was agitated by his whispered yelling, but he wasn't done. His jaw is clenched and red from anger. Rolling your eyes, you cleared your throat, causing the two to look at you.

"I'm heading home, Mika; it's getting late, and I have class in the morning."

Mikasa wanted you to stay, but Eren's tight grip on her arm said otherwise. Mikasa nodded. You step closer towards the door, staring down at Eren as you walk by and leave the room without saying a word.

"Y/N! Wait"

You turned to see Mikasa run up to you with an apologetic look on her face,
"I'm sorry about him. He's been going through something."

You chuckled slightly and brushed it off, telling her it was okay. Mikasa took your hand and slipped something in your palm. You smiled as you read the paper to see her number.

'Isn't it just pretty to think that all along there was an invisible string tying you to me?'
