DINNER WASN'T QUITE... as awkward as Mikasa thought it was going to be. The area they sat in was quiet, with only a few words from other tables. Unlike their family rule, you have to have permission to speak at the table. Mikasa took a bite of her steak while her parents talked to each other, glancing over at her every once in a while. She noticed her mom tense up every once in a while, when making eye contact with her. Like if she felt sorry for her.

"Is there something you want to talk about?"

The two jumped at her sudden words. Her eyes were still attached to the plate as she cut the steak, not joining the scraping on the fine China. Mai cleared her throat, her hand underneath her chin. From her words, she never thought Mikasa's heart could snap in two pieces.

"We know that you and Eren have broken up."

"Yes and?"

"We came to an agreement with the Yaeger's that we would continue to go on with the marriage."

Mikasa dropped her silverware onto the plate, causing half of the restaurant to stare at them. Klaus apologized for the noise before going back to Mikasa's stun action. Klaus reassured that everything was going to fine, but she didn't want to believe it. Once again, her parents went out of their way to ruin her life. 'I promise I won't do anything awful.'

"Mikasa, we're doing this for you. For your future." Mai said, petting Mikasa's head gently, causing her to jerk harshly away. Mai let out a small gasp when Mikasa stood up and grabbed her bag. 'Mommy will never hurt you Mikasa.'

"There's something wrong with you. All I wanted was to be your kid, not your little robot. All I wanted was to be a happy little girl, and I never got that. Maybe if I leave your life, you'll realize you've made a big mistake."

'I'm sorry mama. I never got to be the child you wanted. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Mama, please don't leave me. Please. I need you.'

'I love you so much that I fear God would punish one day by filling my life with you.'

"You're getting married and its final."
