THE NEXT MORNING... You felt a light kiss on your neck as you turned away from the morning light, pulling the covers over your face, only seeing a small part of your head. You hummed at the tingle sensation, digging yourself closer in the warm body.
"It's too bright this morning." You mumbled in Mikasa's neck. Your eyes focused on the mark you made the night before, and bit your lip.
I'm not used to these types of mornings...
You sighed awkwardly, scooting back from her arms, and climbed out of the bed. You stumbled over to the bathroom, but other things happened. Mikasa shot up from the bed with wide eyes, staring at you with the most heartbreaking expression:
"W-where are you going?"
"No, no, I'm just going to the bathroom."
Silence took over as the two of you stared at each other. Your wide eyes roamed her feared figure. The blanket is pulled up to her chin; she's covering herself because it seems like she's shying away from you.
"I thought you were leaving me! I'm sorry; I panicked, and I'm only half awake." Mikasa kept rambling with apologies.
"Mikasa!"
"Y/N!"
"Breathe!"
"I'm trying!"
Silence again
Mikasa sighed, dropping the cover from her face. You sat down on the bed beside her, avoiding the fact that your bladder was about to explode. You ran your thumb over the curve of her bottom lip, pulling it slightly, causing her to bite the pad of your thumb.
"I'm scared, you know. My relationship with Eren was never the best, and I'm afraid that I might scare you away."
You smiled lightly, leaning your forehead against hers. "Scaring me away isn't going to be easy."
"But what about Eren and my parents?What abo-"
Her words were cut off when she felt warm lips against her chapped ones. You pulled back, laughing a little when her eyes were squeezed tightly and her lips puckered a little into a pout.
"As much as I want to kiss you, I have to pee really badly. I'm pretty sure I have a bladder infection now."
Mikasa let out an "oh" before letting you go. She watched the door close before flopping back on the bed, looking at the old posters of astrology on the ceiling. Maybe life would be better without Eren. He doesn't really miss her, does he?
