I eventually got fed up with his slow replies and took it upon myself to find him. I biked over to the store and was greeted by Fezco, "Wassup, Winnie."
"Hey Fez, is Ash here?" I asked politely as I peered through the glass into the back which was seemingly empty.
"Nah, he's back at the house. It's a good thing you're here though cause I been meaning to ask if you know what the fuck it up wit him?" Fez quizzed.
"I mean, I have an idea but I haven't had chance to talk to him about it cause he keeps blowing me off," I sighed.
"I knew it was something between you two. What he do this time?" Fez chuckled lightly.
"Nothing. That's what I'm trying to tell him but he's been avoiding me," I explained to which Fez nodded.
"Aight, well if I was you I'd get yo ass down to my place and squash this shit right now. For both of our sakes, I can't handle his sulking much longer," he huffed.
"Okay, I'll try sort it. See you later, Fez," I smiled before getting back on my bike and heading over to their place.
I left my bike outside before going up to the door, knocking briefly before looking up at the camera and smiling as I knew Ash would be watching. A couple seconds later he appeared in front of me, "Whatchu want?"
"Well hello to you too," I frowned at his blunt attitude, "Are you gonna let me in or..?"
Ash stayed silent as he moved aside so I could walk in and close the door behind me. I followed him over to the couch where he sat across from me with a blank expression.
"I think we should talk about the other night," I got straight to the point, realising Ashtray wasn't going to initiate the conversation anytime soon.
Ash let out a deep sigh before speaking up, "I'm sorry for making you feel uncomfortable, Winnie. I know I shouldn't have tried to move to you like that, I didn't mean to fuck up our friendship again."
"You didn't fuck up our friendship, Ash. You didn't even do anything wrong. I just freaked out because I started to get like flashbacks of Caleb. I don't know why I even thought about him but I know it wasn't your fault," I insisted.
"I still shouldn't have moved so fast. We're supposed to be just friends and I took it too far," he muttered.
"It's fine, Ash. We were both drunk and I wouldn't have kissed back if I didn't want to," I admitted causing a small blush to appear on Ash's face.
"So we good again?" he grinned over at me to which I nodded, "We were always good, that's what I've been trying to tell you but you've been avoiding me."
"Sorry about that. I just felt bad about what happened," he said quietly as I moved over so we were closer.
I wrapped my arm over his shoulder and pulled him into a side hug as I smiled at him, "I almost missed you bestie."
"Almost?" he turned to me with a furrowed brow, not even taking notice of the nickname.
"Yep. I don't care about you that much," I confirmed in a mocking tone. The mischievous grin on my face quickly disappeared though as Ash pounced on me, repositioning his hands to my sides so he could tickle me.
"Ash stop!" I managed to squeak in between giggles as I squirmed under his touch.
"Take back what you said and I'll get off," he responded, still tickling me incessantly.
"Fine, okay! I take it back!" I yelped as I continued to try escape his hold.
"Nah, I wanna hear you say it! Say that you really love and care about me," he demanded without stopping the endless tickling.
"I really love and care about you, Ash!" I exclaimed, tears now rolling down my face.
Ash seemed satisfied with my response as he finally let go, still laughing. "Damn you must really care about me if you're crying about it," he mocked to which I rolled my eyes.
"Those cringey jokes are the exact reason why I didn't miss you," I retorted with a smirk, jumping up from the couch and running away just before he could grab me again.
"Getcho ass back here Winnie!" he called after me as I ran into the bathroom, successfully locking the door behind me as he began to pound against it.
"Open the door!" he shouted as I continued to laugh from inside.
The pounding eventually stopped and I heard the sound of foot steps walking away so I slowly opened the door, peering through the crack. Before I could even process it Ash had sprung up and pushed the door wide open, rugby-tackling me in the process.
The playful wrestling went on for a minute or so but I was unsurprisingly the first to tap out, "Ash I can't breathe!"
Ash rolled off of me as he continued to laugh at my flustered state, "You shouldn't start something you can't finish."
"I'll remember that for next time," I smiled sarcastically before dusting myself off and leaving him in the bathroom.
