I could have stayed in that position forever if my phone hadn't vibrated on the bedside table. I tried to escape Ash's grip but he stayed firmly in place so I had to stretch my arm out to grab my phone.
I skimmed the notifications briefly to see multiple calls and messages from my mom. They started off angry but quickly becoming worried as she continued to message into the early morning asking where I was.
I sent her a short response telling her I would be home soon before putting my phone on the side. I was still annoyed at her for what she had said yesterday but I didn't want her to be too worried about me.
"Ash wake up. I need to go home," I hummed, giving him a small shake.
I felt slightly bad as his relaxed expression turned into a frown. He let out a small groan as he tightened his grip on my waist, "Just gimme five more minutes."
"No Ash. My mom is worried," I huffed, pushing his arm away and shuffling out of bed.
"Still as stubborn as I remember," Ash grumbled as he reluctantly got up. I shot him a warning glare which made him roll his eyes before throwing on a hoodie.
"Aight let's go," he nodded as he slipped on his shoes. I looked down at my outfit, slightly embarrassed as I stood in boxer shorts, an oversized tee and his sliders that obviously didn't fit.
"I'll wash the clothes and drop them back to you tomorrow," I said as we got into his car.
"Nah, keep them. They look better on you," he shrugged nonchalantly.
"Thanks," I mumbled, feeling my cheeks heat up. A smirk grew on his face, obviously aware of the affect he still had on me.
As we pulled up to my house I spoke up, "Thanks again for last night Ash. Even now you're still always here for me and I appreciate that. For what it's worth, I am really sorry about everything. I never meant to hurt you."
"Don't apologise for doing what you thought was right. I'm always finna care for yo ass," he assured.
"I really missed you Ash," I spoke quietly.
"I missed you too shawty," Ash scratched the back of his neck nervously, "If you ever wanna hang out again just hit my line, as friends obviously."
My smile faltered at his last few words but I still nodded, "Yea that would be nice. I better go now though."
"Aight, see you later," he nodded as I climbed out of the car, waving as he drove off.
My mom was waiting downstairs when I returned. She ran up to me and engulfed me into a tight embrace, "I was so worried! You look awful. What happened?"
"Nothing," I muttered as I shook her off. My mom was the last person I wanted to speak to about last night. I just made my way upstairs where I stripped and got into the shower.
No matter how hard I scrubbed I couldn't get rid of the dirty sensation from last night. Even though my body looked clean it felt far from it, as if that guys filthy touch was engrained into my skin.
I eventually gave up, accepting that there was nothing I could do to shake the feeling. I changed into a basic tracksuit before crawling into bed.
I couldn't hold in my tears as I thought back to last night. It only seemed to just hit me what had really happened. I was angry at myself for letting that guy violate me. I couldn't understand why I didn't do something more to stop him.
I was pulled out of my thoughts as my phone started to ring. I looked to see it was Maddy trying to FaceTime so I quickly wiped my tears and answered.
"Hey girl," I saw her face appear on the screen with a sympathetic smile.
"Hey Mads," my voice croaked.
"I know you probably don't wanna talk about this right now but have you heard what everyone is saying happened last night?" she asked.
"No, what are they saying?" I furrowed my brows. My phone had been blowing up all day but I didn't respond so I genuinely had no clue what she was talking about.
"Caleb is telling people you're a prude. Apparently you asked to go upstairs and led him on but started to freak out cause you're frigid," she explained.
"What the fuck? That's not even true. I'm pretty sure he drugged me and I told him to stop as soon as he tried to make a move," I exclaimed as my tears began to well up, "Do people really believe him?"
"Uh kind of. It doesn't really help cause some bitch is spreading rumours about you and Ashtray now, saying you never let him hit when you were dating," she said as if that was so hard to believe.
"Uh..who's saying that?" I queried.
"Some sophomore called Sofia," Maddy rolled her eyes.
"That's Ash's new friend," I spoke in disbelief. It was one thing that she would tell people my business like that but it was another thing to know Ash had obviously told her.
"Wait..It's not true, is it?" Maddy quizzed to
which I sighed."I don't get why it's such a big deal! Its not like we never did things, I just wasn't ready to go the whole way. My moms always freaked me out about getting pregnant young so I just wanted to take it slow," I exclaimed.
"You don't need to defend yourself to me girl! That's your business and if you wanted to take it slow that's totally normal," she reassured.
"I just can't believe Ash would tell her," I grumbled.
"I told you he ain't shit," Maddy emphasised to which I shook my head, "He was so nice to me last night though."
"He's just trying to get you back, he knows he lost the best girl he's ever gonna get," she smiled.
"Thanks Maddy, you're a true friend," I smiled back.
"You're welcome baby, love you always. We need to make plans now schools over by the way!" she insisted.
"Definitely, I'll message you soon. Talk to you later," I blew a kiss at the phone before ending the call.
My fake smile dropped as soon as the call was over. It really hurt to know Ashtray would tell Sofia something so personal, and to think I was gonna give him another chance.
