"So are you sure you guys aren't back together?" Jules queried as we biked to the store.
"Yes, I'm sure," I said for the thousandth time, following closely behind Rue as she hopped off her bike first.
We all stalked into the store to be greeted by Fezco who was chilling on the counter, "Wassup guys."
"Hey Fez," I smiled before helping myself to a bag of candy and dropping the cash for it onto the counter.
"Yo is Ashtray in the back?" Rue asked as she copied my actions of grabbing some candy, except she didn't bother paying for hers.
"Yea, Sofia's back there too," Fez noted although I felt like the last part was mainly directed at me.
I didn't think much of it, reminding myself that Ash had told me nothing was going on between them anymore. That was until Jules let out a gasp as we entered the back.
"Shit sorry! We'll come back later," she scrambled at the sight of Sofia and Ash making out.
They both pulled away and turned their attention to us, Ash of course looking straight at me with a guilty expression.
"Nah, we won't. I need my drugs now, ion give a fuck if young thug got a boner," Rue contested as she shoved both me and Jules further into the room.
Ash hastily pushed Sofia off of his lap. She shuffled over slightly to sit on the arm of his chair similar to the last time I came here. It was taking every inch of me not to rush over and smack that dumb smirk off her face.
"What the fuck you want, Rue?" Ash groaned as he pulled out his stash.
I kept my head low throughout the interaction, not wanting to risk making eye contact with Ashtray or Sofia. The only time I looked up was to smile at Jules when I felt her give my hand a reassuring squeeze.
Rue was able to get her drugs without much fuss and I was more than ready to leave but was stopped when Sofia spoke up, "Winnie I really like your top. It's so cute!"
I looked down at the halter neck top I had on before responding dryly, "Thanks." I couldn't even try keep up my usual fake smile with her. After that we swiftly left the pair and said our goodbyes to Fezco.
