I think my heart got lost
So tell me if you find it
(Loote-Lost)Clarke stood still, silently. In front of her, a girl who was about sixteen years old, with dark hair and blue eyes, stared at her doggedly, visibly irritated.
"And what do you want?" she asked her, in a bad way.
"I-I..." Clarke stuttered, not able to say anything concrete.
"Madi, who's there?" a voice from inside questioned. Clarke jerked. That voice, she would have recognized it in any place and time.
"Madi, can you answer... Oh.". Clarke almost fainted. Two green eyes, the most intense she had ever seen, were fathoming at her, incredulous. Clarke had waited for that moment for so long, it didn't seem real to her. Lexa was there, in front of her, surprised by that unexpected visit. She was holding a blonde child in her arms, the same that there was in the pictures. Behind her Clarke glimpsed a red-haired little girl, shyly clinging to her sweatshirt.
"Clarke, what are you doing here?" Lexa asked, trying to hide as much as possible the emotional whirlwind that was running through her. Clarke opened her mouth to answer, but she couldn't speak.
"Well, I love quiet game." the older girl commented, the dark-haired one. "I have to go." she said then, grabbing a skateboard and walking towards the street.
"Madi, remember to come back before..."
"Yes, as you want." the girl cut short, and then disappeared on the skateboard, under Clarke's bewildered gaze. Lexa shook her head, sighing. Suddenly, the baby in her arms burst into tears.
"Shh, not now Ethan, please." she tried to calm him down, in vain.
"Lexa, have you seen my Math book? I have a test on Monday!". Lexa rolled her eyes forcing herself not to cuss in front of the children. Clarke leaned over to see who had spoken, a blonde boy who was about thirteen years old whom the actress imagined to be the brother of the baby Lexa was holding.
"Lexa, please! I have to study." he insisted, desperate.
"Aden, I have no idea where it is." the actress replied, exasperated. Meanwhile, the baby was crying louder and louder.
"I have to find it, I need it!"
"Aden, I don't know what to tell you. Try to search better." Lexa replied. The baby she was holding couldn't stop crying, while the red-haired little girl was standing at the door, clearly uncomfortable. Clarke didn't hesitate further. She stretched her arms and gestured Lexa to give her the baby.
"I''ll hold him." she said. Lexa would have wanted to refuse, to tell her to go. And yet, she would ha e been a fool if she did it. The situation was out of control and she desperately needed a hand.
"Lexa, let me help you." Clarke insisted and Lexa could do nothing but surrender. She laid Ethan in the blonde's arms and rushed to Aden. The red-haired little girl, on the other hand, stood still leaning against the wall, her eyes fixed on Clarke. The actress smiled at her and took to cradling Ethan, who had started crying again.
"Shh, Lexa will be back soon." she whispered, as she caressed his back. Gradually, the baby calmed down and Clarke breathed a sigh of relief.
"Who are you?" the little girl asked out of nowhere, shyly.
"My name is Clarke." the actress answered, with a smile. "What about you? What's your name?". The little girl pushed herself to the wall even more and looked down.
"Adria." she muttered, her voice so low that Clarke had to make an effort to hear what she was saying.
"It's a beautiful name." she told her, and the little girl finally let out a slight smile.
