"Come on Lexa, we're late!"

"I'm coming, Anya" Lexa replied, annoyed. She turned around in bed and snorted, fed up by that situation. She didn't want to go out for dinner at all. Next to her, Costia was looking at her in silence, smiling.

"Say goodbye to your girlfriend and hurry up, I'm waiting for you in the car!" Anya exhorted her. The last thing she wanted was to find her best friend and her girlfriend in bed, she had already had far too many traumatic experiences in her life. Anya Green was a fairly famous actress, mostly known for playing the protagonist in a sports TV series about volleyball. The two had met shortly after Lexa move to Los Angeles from Boston, at a Disney event. In a short time they had become great friends and the blonde was now a permanent point of reference in the life of the young actress from Massachusetts.

"Lex, I'm serious! They're waiting for us!"  Anya called her friend again. Lexa rolled her eyes and sat up on the bed.

"Come on, let her go and spend the evening with me." Costia proposed to her. Lexa shook her head.

"I wish, but I can't." she said. "Roan and Luna are very fond of this dinner, for two weeks they have been begging me to go and not make excuses." she explained, as she got dressed. Costia snorted, but decided not to insist. Lexa turned to her and looked at her with tenderness.

"I'll try to come back soon. I'm sorry you won't be there, but..."

"Don't worry, I know very well that Luna in particular can't suffer me. I don't blame her, what I did to you three years ago was disgusting, after all. I don't know how Anya tolerates me."

"I explained her that you changed, Cos. And, anyway, I'm the one who decides who I date and anyone who has anything contrary to our relationship, well, either accepts it or is free to get out of my life forever." Lexa said. Costia leaned forward and kissed her, slowly.

"An aut-aut. Aren't you a little exaggerated?" she asked rhetorically, smiling on her girlfriend's lips.

"The didn't call me Heda for nothing in Arkadia, Cos." Lexa replied, kissing her. She was about to deepen that kiss, when Anya honking forced her to desist.

"I'm sorry." she apologized, but Costia gestured her not to worry.

"See you later, I'm gonna wait for you." she reassured her. Lexa hurried to collect her stuff and rushed out of her bedroom.

"I love you!" she exclaimed, running down the stairs, oblivious to the risk of ending up with the bone of her neck shattered. When she arrived at the door, she opened it and went out, finding herself in front of a rather impatient and annoyed Anya.

"Sorry, I didn't know what dress..."

"Spare yourself this pathetic apology, please." her friend stopped her immediately. "Everyone knows that the real problem was your desire to be without any dress."

"Anya!"

"What's the matter? Did I state the false?". Lexa didn't reply. She rolled her eyes and sat in the car, waiting for her friend to start it.

"Look, I know that Costia is not among your favorite people, but do you have to do this every time?" she finally began, annoyed.

"Well, let's say I don't really understand how you could have decided to get back together with her, but at the end of the day, life is yours." Anya told her. Lexa snorted, clearly annoyed. She decided not to reply and turned on the radio. The notes of an unspecified jazz song filled the car, softening the mood. They arrived at their destination in about thirty minutes because of the traffic. They couldn't get out of the car that a little girl with thick red hair ran to meet them, followed by a blonde boy about thirteen years old.
