Y/N's POV:

Once Sheba and Topsy had left, I drove home, and allowed Felix to follow behind me in his vehicle. He was not very familiar with my neighborhood and apartment complex, and I was simply helping him memorize the route to my home in case I invited him over. Sending him my address would have been too boring anyway.

I pulled up into the parking lot of the small apartment complex with a smile, when I suddenly heard a loud and repetitive noise. I frowned and got out of my car, moving around the side to see what it was. Felix saw what I did, parked next to my car, got out, and approached me. My apartment was the kind with doors on the outside, and staircases leading to the higher floor levels. Mine was on the 1st floor level.

Seeing what it was, fear reflected within my eyes, and I immediately took a step back. Felix noticed my sudden change of expression, and wordlessly turned his gaze to where I was looking. Daniel was there...banging on the front door of my home while screaming.

Daniel noticed us and immediately dashed over in our direction. Anger burned in his eyes, looking ready to attack while screaming and flailing his arms. Quick on his feet, Felix ran at him, throwing himself onto Daniel and pinned him down against the cool grass. "(Y/n), call the police!!!"

The neighbors had heard everything, with many peeking out of their homes to see what was going on. I whipped out my phone, and immediately dialed 911.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"My brother is here. He was screaming and banging on my door, probably angry that I refused to give him money for alcohol. My friend is here with me. He's keeping him pinned after my brother tried to attack us!"

"Try to breathe for me, ma'am. What is the address?"

I quickly told them my address, and stayed on the call with them as they requested, until help came.

Shouting, and grunts of struggle snatched my attention, and I looked up, seeing the two men rolling around in the grass, fighting against each other. During their rolling and thrashing, Felix's shirt had lifted slightly, revealing a very large scar in the shape of a claw marks on his right hip, which extended upward. The more his shirt lifted, the more I saw that the scar stopped just below his right pectoral. My jaw dropped in shock, immediately recalling the fight scene with the fire tiger in his second book. So that's what Felix meant when he said he took inspiration from his own life! Because everything in the books actually happened! His stories are based on true events!!! Holy shit. Felix just became a million times cooler than he already was.

Felix growled under his breath, and pinned Daniel down onto his stomach. He was sure to maintain the pin by keeping his knee pressed down hard between Daniel's shoulder blades.

Police arrived, hopping out of their cars, and rushing over to apprehend Daniel. Felix was finally able to let go, allowing the cops to handcuff and restrain the crazed alcoholic.

I thanked the emergency receiver on the other end of the line, and hung up. I then rushed over to Felix to check if he was alright. What was strange was that Felix was currently kneeling on the ground, taking deep breaths. I kneeled down in front of him, taking his hands in mine. "Are you alright, Felix?"

He nodded, and let out a pained chuckle, "Yeah, he slammed his knee into my groin, but I'll be alright. Thank you."

"Ouch- want me to get you a cold pack?", I offered, knowing that taking a hit to the body's most fragile area must be pretty painful.

"No need, my dear. I'll be alright soon", he declined politely and flashed me a reassuring smile, but I still noticed the discomfort in those eyes of his.

I carefully helped him inside, and sat him down on the couch, then returned to the front door. I quickly shut and locked it before leaving the door.

Felix glanced up at me and spoke gently, "So why did your brother become an alcoholic anyway?"

"He....hasn't been the same since our ex dad left", I replied while going over to sit next to him. That was a time I absolutely hated thinking about. The day my biological father abandoned his family to be with a woman that was selfish and vain. A woman everyone in the family hated....
A sigh escaped my lips as I looked away from him.

"I see. I'm terribly sorry that happened to you all," he replied, his face etched with empathy.

"I haven't seen him in many years, and I hope it stays that way," I spoke firmly, my eyes holding no joy. Not long after, I went into the kitchen in hopes to distract myself from the conversation.
