NARRATOR'S POV
➳♡゛
Quickly walking around the car Jasper opens the door for Poppy, offering her his hand to help her out. Smiling she took it, it's just an act. Stepping towards the main pathway to the school's entrance the couple begin to walk towards the door.
A few other students are already staring at the odd pairing. The star basketball player with the nobody, the wallflower of the school. Some groups whispered as they passed.
Throwing his arm around Poppy's shoulder Jasper leans down to her ear and whispers, "You ready Conway?"
"I don't think I ever was." Poppy said.
Laughing Jasper pushes open the door for the pair to walk through, he held it open for Poppy as she walked through, "What a gentleman." She commented.
Placing his arm back around her shoulders he whispers in her ear again, "It'll be okay Poppy."
She takes the hand resting on her shoulder in her own as the pair walk on the hallway, it's just an act. Almost everyone was staring at them both as they strolled past. Everyone including Riley Smith, Jasper's ex-girlfriend of a couple of months.
Aggressively nudging her friend Riley asks, "Rebecca are you seeing this? Why is he with her? Who even is she?"
Rebecca groans, "Yes I have eyes Riley, I can see that Jasper has moved on from you. Maybe you should do the same." She remarks.
"Whatever." Riley huffs, linking arms with Rebecca she drags her down the hallway.

Sitting peacefully in the back of the classroom Poppy silently reads the book she has been reading over the last few days, other students were staring at her and whispering to one another before one shouts over to her, "Hey Conway! Are you going to that party Saturday night with Jasper? You know since you two are dating now."
Before she could answer, Stella, who was seated beside her spoke up, "No she's going with me!"
Poppy snorted, "I'm not going, end off."
Snapping her head to look at her Stella exclaimed, "You're coming willingly or I'll drag you out of your house myself." The other students shared amused looks, "I'm sure your dad wouldn't mind." She added.
A few kids snickered, "Come on Conway! Don't you want to spend time with Jasper?" They pressured.
"They got you there Poppy," Stella added, "Plus I'll be there and obviously you would love to spend time with your best friend."
"I don't appreciate being teamed upon." Poppy stated.
The bell to the lesson ended cutting off their group conversation, minutes later the other students had piled into the classroom. The teacher began speaking, writing some nonsense about metaphors on the whiteboard.
Leaning over slightly Stella whispered, "You're coming to the party, even if for just an hour."
"Ms Jones! I suggest you be quiet in hopes of actually learning something today." The teacher snapped.
"Sorry, sir." Stella sheepishly apologised.
He went back to speaking about the importance of metaphors. Who knew someone could feel so passionately about metaphors of all things. Poppy silently tapped her pen against her desk as she listened to him blabber on and on. At least she had a free period after this to do, within reason, whatever she wanted.
She was looking forward to the needed hour of peace to continue reading her book in the library.
