"Here is your receipt." The waitress smiled as she signed her name at the bottom. Mana Hinode. "Have a nice day, you two." With that, she left us alone.
"I would like to take you somewhere." Rui giggled as he stood up. It was cute. "What do you say, fufu?"
"Of course I would." I felt myself smile as I looked at him. "Where to?"
As Rui's car slowed down, I took the time to look outside. There were trees, trails, a playground that looked rusted, and a dog park. He must of took me to a local park just outside the city.
We got out of the car and he took my hand. Although hesitant at first, Rui started to run westward as more people arrived. Unlike us, they watched from the parking lot.
We continued to run as the rest of the park became crowded. Rui's hand tightened it's grip as we went, but it felt nice.
After a few minutes, Rui came to a stop. We were on a hill far from the crowd. It was only us; probably because of the ankle high grass and occasional dirt.
"What made you choose to come here?" I ended a moment of silence.
"While on the phone with you, I researched events taking place today." He picked my hand up and fidgeted with it. "I saw that there was a meteor shower tonight, so I wanted to watch it with you." His gentle voice felt nice in my ears.
I turned away from him as I felt my body heating up. "Thank you for bringing me." I felt myself smile behind my embarrassment.
"No problem, fufu~" He smiled at me as I felt my stomach become uneasy. I felt like I wanted something from him, but I couldn't place it.
It suddenly clicked in my head. I knew what I wanted, but I wasn't confident enough to actually get it, was I?
"I don't care anymore." I murmured to myself, much to Rui's surprise. His eyes widened as he started to think of what I was referring to.
"Fufu? What's wr-" I cut him off by lip contact. Like the first time, our kiss was short and on the lips. It didn't last nearly long enough.
Just as my embarrassment began to fade, Rui pulled me onto his chest. It almost seemed like a hug.
Time slowed as I sat on his lap. Between his gentle heartbeat and his breathing being the only thing I heard, I felt more comfortable then I had ever before. I leaned on his chest as I felt his heartbeat increase.
"I love you." I looked up at my boyfriend and smiled. He smiled back.
"I love you too, fufu." I felt his warm hand brush my hair. The comfort I felt was indescribable. I nuzzled myself into his chest as his fingers stroked my head.
We sat like this for a long while. Rui gave me a kiss on the forehead here and there, kept telling me things such as 'I love you' and 'you mean the world to me'.
"Mm, Rui." I was in too much of a trance to speak normally, so it came out in a mumble.
"Hm? Is something wrong?" Our eyes met for the first time that hour.
"I'm getting cold." I shivered as I put my head back into Rui. He giggled as he reached for his bag.
"Luckily for us, I happened to bring a blanket." In his hands was a warm looking blanket, in which he covered me with.
Maybe it was the warmth from the blanket or the gentle heartbeat of my boyfriend, but I soon fell asleep.
