"Mhm." Rui woke up with a grumble. "Did I fall asleep when watching that movie?" He closed his eyes for a second. "Wait- did you carry me here? I must of fallen asleep on the couch, so how else would I have gotten here?" I nodded quickly, but didn't say a word.

I tried to change the topic. "Oh! I almost forgot; it's April Fool's Day!" I cheered as he nuzzled his face into my chest.

"I completely forgot." He yawned mid-way through speaking. "Pranking people can be fun. Maybe Emu?"

I laughed. "Sure." I had plans to prank Rui myself, but I needed to find an appropriate time.

"Fufu, can you make breakfast? I want to have some of your cooking." I smiled and agreed. It seemed too obvious to prank him with cooking, so I held off.

"Breakfast is served, Rui-kun~" I sang as I set some pancakes in front of him, to which he smiled.

"Thank you, my sweet fufu." His voice rose and dropped as he thanked me.

Rui took a bite of my pancake. Watching him eat put me in a trance. I watched him chew and swallow every bite. I saw a gentle stream of maple syrup run down his face and then dripping from his chin. I resist the urge to catch the dripping syrup in my mouth.

I shrugged it off. I didn't want to make him uncomfortable, and we weren't together that long. I giggled and carried on with my day.

"Tsukasa!" Saki cheered as she ran up to me. "I pulled a prank on Shiho today! Her face was priceless!" She smiled until realizing that I felt slightly down. "Is something wrong?"

"I want to pull a prank on Rui, but I'm not sure what to do." I sighed as I sank to the floor. "I don't want to make him upset, but I want to see his reaction."

"Aww- it's nothing to worry about!" She reassured me enthusiastically. "I've got plenty of different ideas for you to choose from!" She began to whisper. "Depends on how cruel you want to me."

"Saki, why did you whisper that?" I wondered aloud. "Is there something wrong about it?"

"Depends on how you take it. But anyway, would you like to tamper with his food, tell a lie, or mess with something such as his phone?" Saki's voice got loud, clearly from excitement.

"I'm not sure." I pouted as I realized that I had no idea what I was doing.

"Come on! You used to prank me all the time! This is no different. You basically consider him a part of our family, no?" I took the time to question it.

"Of course. We literally sleep in the same bed together. What do you mean 'a part of our family'?" I thought about it. "Come to speak of it, I do consider him my favorite person. I trust him enough to let him cuddle me in my sleep for god's sake."

Saki widened her eyes. "You didn't tell me that! You two cuddle?" I rolled my eyes as I carried on.

"So I guess it wouldn't be an issue, but how and when would I prank him?" I needed an answer, as the day was short.

"You can go see him now. Maybe you can just go and ask him to dinner. You can play some sort of prank with his car or something." She was getting excited at the thought of all the ideas.

"Alright." I smiled. I didn't see Rui actually getting mad at me, as he would always just call me cute and kiss me. He couldn't scold me if he wanted to.

Right when I was about to leave to his place, he called.

"Fufu? Can I ask you out to dinner?" He asked my question for me.

"Of course. I'll see you when I get home." I chuckled. "I love you, Rui-kun."

"I love you too, fufu~" Rui sang as he hang up.

"Rui!" I ran to him and wrapped him in a hug. He lightly laughed and smiled a goofy smile. I kissed him out of adoration.

"Shall we get going?" His voice sounded excited, so I couldn't help but nod.

He grabbed my hand and ran to the car. We let go of each other to sit in our seats. I heard him chuckle as I sat.

I was about to question what he thought was funny, when I realized that I had fell for his trap. The seat had glue on it.

"Rui-kun." I huffed, trying to pretend to be mad at him. Oddly enough, I couldn't get myself to feel anger towards him no matter how much I tried.

"Saki texted me about your plan. " He said, while driving. "I couldn't just let you get your hopes up, so I decided to play along obviously."

"So you took my idea?" I pouted again.

"No, it was Saki's." He outsmarted me, as always.

It seemed that Saki had a plan all long to come out on top. She wanted me to think I was smart, but ended up ruining the whole operation.

"If you would like, we can still go to dinner~" Rui sang peacefully and I nodded.

I finished brushing my teeth and sat on the edge of the bed. Rui was already covered by the blankets, but lifted it up so I could crawl under them.

I peacefully put my body against his as he wrapped his leg around mine. Our hands laid right between our chests, curled up to conserve space.

"Fufu, you are mine. Never forget that." Rui grabbed my face and kissed me passionately, which I leaned into as well. My mind stopped wandering in that moment, and his probably did too. Those slow-ticking moments were everything.
