The clock had struck 11 at night, as ishita placed two pillows and a sheet on the couch in the living room. Dushyant, who walked in on her, was a little perplexed at this.
"tum bahar kyun so rahi ho?" questioned dushyant, as ishita was moving the little pillows on the couch to the sofa set armchairs on the left.
"main nahi, aap yahan soyenge..." stated ishita bluntly, as dushyant chuckled, and in return ishita just glared at him.
"ismein hasne ki kya baat hai?" asked ishita, frowning, as dushyant still had a smile on his face.
"nahi, woh bas, aakhri baar tumne mujhe 'aap' kaha tha tab main tumhe dinner ke liye lekar gaya tha, hamari pehli date pe...kaafi time baad suna toh bas woh, yaad aa gaya...." recounted dushyant, a bittersweet smile on his face.
"date pe kahan lekar gaye tum kabhi mujhe! aur waise, bhi woh toh bas 'thank you' tha na, purvi ka khayal rakhne ke liye...." teased ishita, as dushyant understood exactly what she was doing, a playful smirk coming on his face.
"ab jaanti toh tum bhi thi, ki main purvi ke liye toh thank you nahi bol raha tha..." remarked dushyant, hugging ishita from the back, wrapping his arms around her waist.
"hmm...tumhare toh ladoo phut rahe the mann mein...pehli baar toh uss raat dhabe pe kisi ladki ko chua toh tumne..." retorted ishita, as dushyant just pulled her from her wrist playfully, such that she was facing him now, to which she just chuckled.
"toh burai kya hai, sabki thodi pehli baari mein lottery lag jaaati hai!" exclaimed dushyant, as ishita just shook her head in disbelief.
"tum kuch bhi bolte ho seriously..." commented ishita, pushing him off her, not aggressively though, as she rolled her eyes.
"tumhe waapas tum pe lee aaya na..." reminded dushyant, as ishita just sighed in defeat.
"jab bhi naraaz hoti hoon, aur mood kharab hota hai, tum kardete ho theek..." reminisced ishita, as they exchanged a smile.
Dushyant walked over to her, cupping her face, before saying his next words.
"promise kiya tha na, tumhe zindagi bhar khush rakhunga....pehle bhale hi woh waada main bhol gaya ho, par, ab puri zindagi laga dunga ki tumhe utni khushi de paon jitni tumne mujhe di hai...shayad usse zyada bhi." promised dushyant, as ishita was made to remember again what had been making her day so miserable, the realization of reality was enough to break up this fantasy that she could ever be normal with him again, she jerked his hands off of her, turning away from him, walking away to leave.
He didn't stop her, he knew he had no right to. He only looked at her with longing, the kind he felt when she left him for the first time, he was only adamant though, to make it the last.

Purvi and kavin lay in their bed together, both of their backs facing each other, the distance between them was hard enough to feel. kavin turned to his left, as he placed his hand on purvi's shoulder, she closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep, not wanting to react.
"purvi main jaanta hoon maine kitni badi galti ki hai. tumhe meri zaroorat thi, aur main tumhare saath nahi tha...tumhari takleef nahi samjhi maine, bas, apna gussa tumhare upar utara. Hamara bacha kabhi humein jaan nahi payega mere kaaran, aur yeh baat ka bhoj main hamesha apne dil pe lekar ghoomunga. Par, iss sab ke baad, main bas itna jaanta hoon ki abhi tum bahaut hi gehri takleef mein ho. Ye nahi matter karta ki mujhse naraaz ho ki nahi, bas itna matter karta hai ki ab main tumhe woh support dunga, jiski tumhe zaroorat hai, not because i'm guilty, but because you deserve it." expressed kavin what was on his mind, as purvi didn't move, just kept her eyes closed and listened to him, but to him, she was asleep.
he sighed deeply, in complete despair, as he moved a bit closer to her, giving her a kiss on the forehead, before covering her with the blanket. He watched her sleep all he could, that's the only way he got to see so much of her, but it was okay, he was ready to do his time.
