The tea, burning on high flame, quickly came out bursting from the pot, as purvi came out from the shock of what she had just seen. she immediately simmered the flame down and picked up her phone that was on the floor, her hands still shivering, she dialed for the number that sent her the horrifying picture.

She was getting agitated, walking around, waiting after every ring for a response, but the call got disconnected.

She opened the chat window of that number again, typing a quick message, and before the message could be delivered, she was blocked and before she could do anything about it, the chat window completely disappeared. she looked for the number in outgoing calls, but it was nowhere.

she couldn't even understand what had just happened....

                                                                ***

ishita, who was so exhausted, just tired, mentally, physically, emotionally. she didn't want to think or feel or do anything, as she just crashed on her couch, the moment she entered her home, keeping her purse away, didn't even take off her shoes yet. neelu, who closed the door shut, noticed this, and felt a lot of sympathy for her, as she moved her wheelchair to her.

"beta, kamre mein jaakar late jao thodi der, zaroorat hai tumhe thode aaram ki..." stated neelu with concern, as ishita did get up unwantedly, knowing she'd get better rest there.

Meanwhile, as she lay in her room, and closed her eyes shut, Neelu took off her footwear, and covered her with a blanket.

"beta, main bahar hi hoon, huh? kuch chahiye ho toh bata dena.." stated neelu, shutting off the light, before shutting the door of the room close to leave.

she swiftly moved her wheelchair to the kitchen, fetching a glass of water from the filter, when her glance fell on a used cup of tea by the cinq. she took hold of it, as her hand clasped onto it. the tea was still there, smelled like ginger, no sugar at the bottom, just the way he liked it in the morning.

a tear escaped neelu's eyes, before she realised, a waterfall of them erupted, it finally dawned on her, this is the last of what she has of her son.

it took her a minute, to finally get hold of herself,  as she took a huge sigh. she did feel better, it was all let out now. she kept the cup back, knowing it'll take a while for both her and ishita to just let go of it.

she got out of the kitchen, to the guestroom, as she managed to stand with her both knees bent, with the support her arms took from the wheelchair, as she lied down on the bed, letting out  a huge sigh, before moving the wheelchair closer to bed, directly facing her now.

she attempted to close her eyes, but the monsters under the bed, started to find their way to find their way to haunt her.

A 10-year old Purvi, is happily sitting on a merry-go-round, not caring about the world around her, just the sheer odd spectacle she got to see of the world, was enough to amuse her.  A smile came on neelu's face, who was sitting next to her mother, on a bench only 10 steps nearby the swing.

"babaji de meher bani rahi phir saade upar, kudi bilkul thik hai..." stated her mother, as neelu nodded.

"hmm, jab ultra sound mein nikla tha na ki ismein reye's syndrome detect hua hai...heart attack hi aa gaya tha hum dono ko...sameer aur main naa jaane kis-kis doctor ke paas gaye, kitne test karwaye...bas, woh detection false nikla...aur abhi tak sab normal hai iski growth mein..." recounted neelu, her voice already getting heavy, as her mother rubbed her shoulder.

"hmm, par dekho, tere paas sarkari naukri hai, aur sameer ne bhi joh kaam liya, yeh badhe logon ke yahan, usse teri ek achi doctor ne ekdum safe delivery karwayi...aur rab ne bhi saath diya hamara...ab bas, tum dhyaan do, usse joh bhi madad chahiye uss kaam mein, karwao...apna ghar banao, settle ho jao dono. bache dono tumhare thik nikle hain, ab bas unpe dhyaan do." explained her mother, as neelu nodded along, regretting to have believed everything would be fine from that point.

Her eyes opened, in fright, as sameer's word echoed in her mind.

Neelu, who was lying on the bed, waiting for the doctor to arrive for her ultrasound looked over to sameer, who couldn't find the peace to sit down even for a minute.

"sameer..." called neelu, as sameer immediately rushed to her.

"haan, kya hua? koi problem hai tumhe? doctor ko bulaon?" asked sameer at once, as neelu shook her head in no, just as if not more terrified than him.

"agar humare bache ko sach mein....yeh problem hui, kya humein usse abort karana hi padega?" asked neelu, not being able to find the strength to utter those words. sameer, placed his around neelu's cheek, and clasping his hand into hers.

"main hamare bache ko kuch nahi hone dunga, agar kuch hua bhi, jee-jaan laga dunga, lekin woh usse theek zaroor karaunga, hum give up nahi karenge...ab uske liye chahe mujhe kitne bhi croron rupee launder karne padhein..." assured sameer with such conviction to neelu, as they both shared a shred of tear in their eyes, when she gave him a hug.

"hum karlenge yeh..." said neelu too with conviction, as sameer nodded in the hug, hiding from her how even he was crippling in fear.

she was brought back to earth from her thoughts, by the ring of her phone, as she grabbed it from her jean pocket.

"hello.." she received the call.

"hello, mam?" responded the caller immediately.

"ankit?" questioned neelu.

                                                           ***

the phone was placed on the coffee table, an audio recording was playing.

'oh please, aisa ho sakta hai tumne kuch bhi na kiya hoon, aur hum sab par musibat aayi ho!' yelled meghna in frustration.

'musibat meri wajah se nahi, tumhare sahab zaade ki wajah se aayi hai! kya zaroorat thi 4 ke 4 ko maar diya phir unke baap ko bhi maar diya! aur phir itni bewakoofi hai tum logon mein, yahi nahi samajhte, unke chote bete bade ho rahe hain, woh nahi aayenge hamare peeche! pata chal gaya tha unko purvi pregnant hai, isliye maine unse dosti rakhi...unhe yakeen dilaya ki main unke saath hoon, unhe door rakha...par kya karein, mere bete ne aur badhi bewakoofi kardi, mera naam lagakar kiya tha! ab bhukto!' ranted sameer, when a loud crash sound was accompanied.

'sambdhan ji!' exclaimed sameer, as ishita gasped.

the audio recording stopped.

"toh yeh record ho raha tha ankit ke bluetooth mein...woh usne apni belt pe fit karliya tha, taaki aage jaakar sameer aur baaki log isse na phassa de..he would record everything that would happen in the office.." stated neelu.

"haan, par how is he sure, ki kavin zinda hai?" questioned purvi.

"woh usse jab ek gaadi mein shift kar rahe the, usse thodi der ke liye hosh aaya...jahan usne dekha ki woh kavin ko behosh haalat mein sameer, meghna aur savita ke saath ek kamre mein daal rahe hain...." disclosed neelu, as purvi and ishita were shocked.

"par phir woh uski dead body?" questioned purvi, and neelu opened her mouth to answer, when purvi's phone rang.

it was an unknown number, as she put it on speaker, recounting what happened this morning.

"hello..." received purvi the call, as ishita and neelu too listened carefully.

"h-he-hel-hello, pu-r-vi..." responded a chocked voice,it seemed like his throat was so damaged, it was a miracle he could speak...and the voice, they didn't take long to identify, was dushyant's.
