dushyant, was constantly tapping on the window, as he stood by there, with a phone by his ear, on a call. he seemed agitated, taking long breaths between his words, before he uttered his next sentence.

"i know sir, i have been away a long time, kuch inform bhi nahi kiya office mein...it's just uhmm, meri tabiyat, bahaut achanak se kharab hogayi...uhhm, main hospital mein tha...meri wife, uhh, bahaut pareshaan thi, uska bhi dhayaan nahi gaya hoga office call karne ko....i'm really sorry sir, i get it, you must be really worried..." apologized dushyant, gulping down his throats in huge lumps, something seemed to bother him.

"uhh, sir, i know, it's asking a lot, but, can i take this week off as well...it's just, main abhi hospital se aaya hoon and, doctor ne mujhe complete bed rest pe rehne ko bola hai..." stated dushyant, nervously, just hoping for his request to get accepted, as he waited eagerly waiter for the response, his face lit up with the smile, letting anyone who'd see him know, his request was accepted.

"thank you so much sir, seriously....i, i'll get back to work from next week i promise...oh, thanks sir, it means a lot...i will..bye.." hung up dushyant on the call, as he turned back with his smile still intact, only to find ishita in front of him, standing with her arms crossed.

"toh kaun tha yeh doctor jisne tumhari itni serious injuries ko dekh kar tumhe bed rest ke liye bola..." snipped ishita sarcastically, not at all having it, as dushyant's smile faded.

"woh bas, tumhare bhi chutiyan rehti hi hain, aur main soch raha tha ki....kuch din, ghar rehlo...tumhare saath..." flustered dushyant with his words, his eyes on the ground, as he made little circles on the floor with his feet.

the bed was between them, they stood at opposite ends of it, as ishita let her hands down, examining him a little more carefully.

"dushyant...." ishita was about to rebuke him, as it appeared to in her tone, when dushyant intervened.

"tumne mail dekha apna?" questioned dushyant, as ishita raised her brow at him.

"woh....yaad hai, hum ooty jaane waale the, but mera yeh work trip ho gaya, toh humne hotel booking ki date aage badhayi thi....uska confirmation mail aaya tha..." informed dushyant, hands in his pocket, as he sat on the bed on his knees, closer to ishita now, facing her.

"ab refund toh milne waala hai nahi....aur main jaane laayak raha nahi..." remarked dushyant, making ishita let out a light chuckle, as dushyant looked at her fondly, a sweet smile on his face, she reciprocated too with a radiant one, their gazes fixed on each other for a moment, before she looked away. but even though he wasn't surprised, didn't mean it didn't hurt.

"dushyant, i mean, ab uska koi matlab bhi nahi raha....main dobara kabhi, ek bache ke barein mein nahi soch sakti..." stated ishita, tearing up, as dushyant sighed giving her a hug, she couldn't help but bury her head in his shoulder, the tears still wet from the pain that was still new.

dushyant and ishita were sitting nervously in front of the gynaecologist, who seemed to be looking report with rather worry-inducing expressions, as dushyant looked over to ishita awkwardly, as she squeezed his hand, assuring him everything will be fine. suddenly, the doctor looked at them, as their eyes were now on her.

"so, aapke dono reports actually are quite positive, nothing very serious here.....uhmm, ishita tumhari reports bilkul thik hai, baaki dushyant tumhari sperm motility ki problem dekh kar joh humne further semen analysis kiya hai, usmein bhi koi serious biological problem ka indication nahi hai...basically, some lifestyle changes and you'll be fine..."  explained the doctor, as they both let out huge sighs of relief.

"toh kya changes hai yeh exactly?" questioned dushyant, a little puzzled, as the doctor looked him up and down and then at his reports.

"hmm, weight thik hai, matlab khaate-peete thik ho, exercise bhi karte hi hoge, dil daul tumara thik hai....daaru, cigarette band kardo pehle toh..." replied the doctor, as ishita let out a light chuckle.

"dono hi nahi karta yeh toh doctor...." assured ishita, as dushyant too laughed along.

"mujh mein itni himmat nahi hai, yeh jaante hue karoon ki ghar iske paas hi jaana hai..." joked dushyant, as ishita slapped his arm playfully.

"hmm, matlab stress zyada le raho ho tum...." gathered the doctor, as ishita immediately nodded.

"exactly doctor! yeh seriously bahaut stress le leta hai, kabhi-kabhi raat ko uth ti hoon aur yeh ghar mein aise bhatakta hua ghoom raha hota hai ki neend nahi aa rahi...main darr jaati hoon itna..ek toh itna andhera hota hai, upar se isne kaali t-shirt pehni hoti hai..." recounted ishita, as dushyant looked at her in disbelief.

"ek baar hua tha woh!" exclaimed dushyant, as the doctor attempted to hide her chuckle.

"tum dono kahi chutti pe kyun nahi chale jaate?" suggested the doctor, as dushyant and ishita exchanged glances.

"i mean, you both can figure out some dates jab dono free ho, just you know, roz ke stress se thoda break lelo...you'll be relaxed, you'll easily conceive then..." assured the doctor, as ishita raised her brow at him, to which he shrugged his shoulders, there was no why, just a why not.

ishita seperated from dushyant her hand still on his chest, as she looked into his eyes.

"aur mujhe abhi yeh bhi nahi pata..ki main, hamare rishte ko ek aur mauka de paungi ki nahi..." confessed ishita, as dushyant nodded, knowing there's nothing he could do.

she gave him a forced smile, before walking away, as he had to let her go.

he was left alone for the moment, when his phone suddenly rang. it was a text notification, an image popped up in front of his eyes, when a knowing smirk came on his face, it's like he found out something he needed.
