Cliffs and Cuddles

Dylan's POV: When I came back from getting water and more bananas Lori was sitting there weaving leaves. "Whatcha doin?" I said smirking.

"Waiting for you to come back, your late again." She said rolling her eyes.

"Wait your giving me a curfew?" I said throwing my hands into the air.

"Yes, I am but only because we might die." She said as if the answer was obvious and that we would die if I wasn't back in time.
We decided I would start heading back as sunset began, that way Lori would know if it took me too long, however that never happened so she really didn't if I was in trouble or not. Lori shivered. "It's so cold." She said rubbing her arms.

"We should get some sleep." I said sitting down. "You can get some water but then you should get some rest."

"Alright." Lori said yawning. I layed down to sleep and heard Lori drink some water. After that she layed down somewhat close to me and curled up. A couple minutes later Lori rolled closer to me. I knew she wanted me to believe she was just rolling in her sleep but i could tell she wasn't. I don't know how but she just looks different when she's asleep, and her breathing sounds different.
A couple minutes later she rolled again, her back was right up against my chest and she had curled into a ball again. I smiled, did this mean she liked me back? Probably not, she probably just wanted to stay warm. Whatever, I put my arm around her and cuddled. She was warm, I was glad we had each other's body heat to keep each other warm. I stayed awake until Lori fell asleep, once I heard her steady breathing I closed my heavy eyes and fell asleep.

"Whoa, what the heck?" I woke up to girls voice but it wasn't Lori's, Lori was still sleeping next to me. I looked up to see a girl standing there, staring at us. I took my arm off of Lori and stood up.
The girl had blonde hair that had an ombré into pink. She had bright blue eyes that glared straight at me. She was wearing grey sweatpants that were tucked into black and white hightop converse. She had a dark green tank top and a camo vest/jacket. I started walking toward her when she pulled out a dagger. "Don't move!" She threatened and pointed the dagger at me. I threw my arms into the air hoping she didn't have good aim. If that dagger went airborne I was dead. "Who are you and why are you here?!" She looked at Lori who was somehow still asleep on the ground. "And who is she?" I could tell the girl was scared even though her voice sounded harsh and she was giving me the death stare.

"My name is Dylan, her name is Lorelei." I said pointing to Lori. "I have no idea how we got here, neither of us can remember anything."

"How do I know I can trust you?" The girl said.

"Well I guess you can't." I said. "However, I told you our names so I think I deserve to know yours." I smirked a little bit then i remembered I was trying to gain her trust so I straightened my face.

"I'm Madeline but call me Maddy." The girl said, still pointing her dagger at me, "I'm the same as you, I can't remember anything from the past, every once and a while I get glimpses of people I assume I used to live with, other than that, nothing."

"Well I guess you have two choices, kill me and my friend because you think we're lying, or don't kill us because you think that the same thing happened to us that happened to you." I smiled at her and tilted my head tot he side. She sighed and out her dagger away.

"C'mon, wake up your friend and I'll take you to Carter" she said.

"Who is Carter?" I said

"No more questions just come with
me!"

"Will we be coming back?"

"I don't know, just wake your friend up and come with me!"

"Okay!" I said in defeat. I walked back over to Lori and shook her to wake her up, "Lori wake up!" I said. Lori opened her eyes.

"I'm awake" she said quietly.

"What? you were awake that whole time?" I said confused and slightly irritated.

"I didn't want it to be weird if I woke up in the middle of your conversation but I know what's happening, let's go." She stood up and waited for me to start walking. I walked toward Maddy and she followed me.

"Let's go." Maddy said as she walked out through the vines, she didn't wait for us. She obviously knew her way around, she led us through the forest In silence. Suddenly were started hearing hooves. "Into the trees" she said. She jumped up, grabbed the branch of a tree, and pulled herself up. Lori did the same.
"What's happening?" I said to Maddy and the sound hot louder.

"It's a stampede!" Maddy said, "Get up or get trampled!" She motioned to me to climb up the tree. I jumped up and grabbed a tree branch, as the herd came into sight, I pulled myself up and the boars ran under us. After the boars passed us we jumped down from the trees.

"Why are there wild boars in the middle of the forest?" I asked as we continued walking.

"We still haven't figured that out yet." Maddy said taking out her knife and spinning it around in her hand.

"We?" I said curiously.

"Man, you sure do ask a lot of questions." Maddy shook her head and smiled. She hasn't answered my question but I figured she never would so I gave up. We continued walking until we got to the bottom of a cliff, "I hope you guys like rock climbing." Maddy smirked at us and started up the cliff, Lori and me close behind her. Somehow we reached the top of the cliff alive. We looked around, nothing. Maddy kept walking. She walked through some tall bushes, we followed her through. We looked up as Maddy stopped walking, "Welcome to the rest of your life."

AN: ok so I know that I was supposed to update last night but I fell asleep writing, again. However this time I actually somehow deleted the majority of my work while asleep. If that hasn't happened than i would have updated in the morning because I had almost finished. But I had to re-write most of the story... Anyway, I hope you like it! Sorry if the title gave away the chapter I couldn't think of anything else...😅
P.S. Sorry last chapter was so boring I have no idea how I was able to make it that long barely anything happened.
