Dylan's POV: I was right. This guy couldn't be trusted. He would just use us, like I said before. I knew I was probably getting us in big trouble but I was not going to be Carter's servant for the rest of my life. Lori looked at me with pure horror. She probably didn't understand. I know that she can usually tell when people are lying and what people are like but she must be out of it today or something cause this guy was obvious. "Dylan come on-" Lori started.

"No" I said sternly. "I don't trust him" I nodded to Carter. I could see Maddy shaking her head. "I'm leaving" I turned and walked out of the tent. Lori ran after me.

"Dylan wait, please!" Lori called. I walked back over to the hill and started walking up it. Lori grabbed my wrist and turned me around. "Why are you acting like this?" Lori was still holding my wrist. Her hand slipped into mine.

"Look I can just tell, he's bad news. Don't you see it?" I sat down and Lori sat next to me. Her hand still holding mine.

"Dylan if we don't stay how will we live?" Lori looked straight into my eyes.

"The way we were before!" I said. "All I know is that I don't trust Carter and I'm not going to live with him." Lori put her head on my shoulder.

"Than what do we do? It's not like we can go find somewhere else to live. They're going to try to kill is because they don't want us stealing supplies." Lori was right, at this point our only choice was to join them, wether I liked it or not.

"You're right." I sat up taller and she took her head off my shoulder. She looked at me.

"Really?"

"Yeah, it's our only choice."

"So your gonna get your butt in there and tell Carter that we are one of them?" She smirked

"I guess so." I really didn't want to agree with her but Lori had a point that I couldn't argue with. "C'mon" I said as I stood up. Lori let go of my hand. Was something wrong? Why did she let go?

"Let's go." Lori smiled and began walking down the hill. I guess it made sense. I made her take her head off my shoulder. Ugh I'm so stupid.

I followed Lori back down the hill. I could see Carter walking out of the tent towards us oh shoot. (I'm trying not to cuss so when I say shoot u know what I mean) anyway Carter looked pretty mad. "What the heck?" Carter yelled. (Again trying not to cuss)

"Yes?" I said innocently. Carter stormed up to me. He was literally two inches away from biting my nose. Why did he have to be taller than me? That doesn't help my situation!

"Don't act like you didn't do anything Dylan." Carter spat.

"Ok I won't" I said back. "I change my mind."

"You can't just 'change your mind' over something like this. Your now a threat to me and everyone here. And the only one you can blame is yourself." Carter had backed up a little but he was still just as loud. Why had I not thought this through?

"I'll do whatever you want me to." I said. I hated this. Why would I do that to myself?
I could see Lori standing behind Carter. He had walked right past her. She looked around. Nobody could see us. She slowly walked toward Carter. I looked back at him and stood a little taller.

"You go with Maddy and-" Carter dropped like a fly.

"Nice!" I looked towards Lori. She was laughing so hard.

"Ok now for the gag so when he wakes up we get him to do whatever we want."

"Ummm. We don't have a gag." I looked at Lori.

"Do you have a sock?"

"No."

"You don't have a sock?" Lori looked at me like I was crazy.

"No. I'm not using my sock as a gag, I want my sock." I whined

"You're ridiculous." Lori laughed. "C'mon give me your sock!"

"No! There's a simple solution to this." I said.

"Well what is it?" Lori asked, looking around.

"I don't know" I laughed.

"I do"
