Shouldn't Be Alone

Chapter 13

Shortly after I woke up I ate a snack and did all my homework quietly.
I eventually cuddled up and went back to sleep. With Cole.

I don't think my mom ever checked on me when she came back from her doctors appointment but that just meant more time for me and Cole

We both woke up head-butting each other by the sound of my alarm telling me get ready for school. Today's Friday. Cole and I go on our very first date today... Cole and I still classified as "sick" so there's no point in going to school so...

I smack my alarm to shut up.
"Oh god my fore head hurts..." We both say touching our heads...
My phone buzzes and I look at it, it's from Hannah...

Hannah🌺: TODAY IS FRIDAY! WOOHOO! I'll be at your house in a few to help you get ready for UR BIG DATE! 😘 I'm "sick" too so I'm not going to school!

I instantly look outside and see that my mom has gone to work but Hannah is at my front door, I remember I gave her a spare key so she was welcome anytime...
Cole is still covered in MY favorite blanket and I pull it from him.
He is shirtless.
I remember him getting up late at night to go do something and he must've gotten too comfortable here.
Oh well... I'm not complaining

Of course he doesn't seem to mind, but my face turns an instant bright red.
"Hannah is on her way, trying to help me get ready to impress you." I say
"You look fine to me now..." He says looking at me.
I look at myself for the first time in the mirror, I'm wearing a tank top and shorts.
Aye vay... Cole.
"Put your shirt on and hide." I demand
"No." He says back
"No?" I question.
"You heard me. No." He replies
I stand there with my arms crossed at least 4 feet away from my bed. I walked to my bed but I fell over my pile of clothes and landed on him
We both just stare at each other in silence.
"You have really dark brown eyes..." He says
"I'm aware. The ugliest brown eyes ever." I state
"They aren't ugly... They're different. They sparkle whenever you're happy..." He says "like now..."
I get off him and just lay next to him, forgetting about Hannah.
Although it's hard to forget her when she busts through the door.
"I'm here!" She yells.
"You two need to keep "five-hundred-twenty-five-thousand-six-hundred feet away from each other!" She screeches "this is my second time walking in on you guys!
We all bust out laughing, Cole grabs his shirt and leaves us to do "girly things"
"I'll come back around 2:00?" He states/asks..
"Well it's already 8:45 so why not?" I say
With that he leaves but forgets his jacket, which of course I will keep forever
"Okay let's get you all dolled up!" She exclaims
"Is it really gonna take us 5 hours to get me ready?" I ask
"No... Fine lets go eat, then we'll get your face on and a nice outfit and after that we can just chill and relax!" She says bubbly.
"Okay then..." I say glumly... I get ready to dread the next 5 hours doing "girly things" ...
