"I think I hear something" Hannah says.
"I do, too." I say, "and I think I know where it's coming from. Follow me." I take the lead and get out of the bathroom into the 600 hall, there is a bathroom in the science hall but I wanted to take longer. Now, I'm pretty sure I'll take a good while. We start heading closer towards the science hall and hear my name being mentioned once again...
"Wait Hannah." I say, slowly creeping towards not one but two voices.
Hannah decides to follow me and we see that there's two figures talking about me. We can't really see what they look like since the halls are dim, so we have to rely on voices to figure who is who.
"I think I might like this girl..." The 1st guy says... "But I've only known her for 1 class period and 15 minutes." He says sadly.
"So you're telling me you like a girl you've only known for an hour and all you know is her name and personality?"
The other guy says.
"Yeah pretty much..." The suddenly familiar voice says.
"Can you at least tell me what her name is?" The second guy asks, growing a but impatient
"Her name is... E" the guy barely says then the alarms start blaring.
Fire alarms.
I look back to see Hannah has immediately ditched me and when I look back I see one of the guys has disappeared and I'm suddenly swooped to the side by arm.
"What are you doing here?!" Cole asks loudly
"I was... Just coming back from the bathroom..." I yell. I realize I'm in another awkward situation because there is a fire somewhere and me and Cole are in the middle of the 600 hall talking... Yes, talking. Not running for our lives. Talking.
"C'mon we gotta get outta here..." He says taking my hand. I want to ask him about who he was talking with but that might seem like I was eavesdropping. And at the same time I'm trying to find Hannah so I can strangle her because she left me. We finally make it out of the school but we're both soaking wet because the water thingy (so professional) started sprouting and they all went off once they sensed the smoke. I was greeted by Hannah who made it seem like I died and came back to life and Cole awkwardly makes his way to his "group" or whatever.
"You left me." I said firmly.
"I didn't mean too! It was first instinct... I'm sorry..." Hannah says.
"Okay then... But next time try not to leave me in the middle of a fire." I say realizing how stupid that must sound.
We are supposed to be lined up by first period teachers so Hannah and I make our way to Mrs. Mayerson, we noticed we are the last ones to arrive in the line. Once the teacher called roll, I started to look around. We are in the football field which is surrounded by a track, I look at all the teachers and noticed their faces. This wasn't a drill. Soon the principal came out and said we had to go to the middle school cafe. It was really just a hangout place where buses came and went but whatever. As we walk I make sure I have full control of Hannah. Suddenly I see Cole by my side and he takes my hand "Hey em." He whispers, "hey Cole" I say whispering dramatically. "Oh sorry I just thought we had to be quiet..." "We are supposed to be quiet, but I don't think anyone cares at the moment." I say with a smile, I noticed that Hannah just became the third wheel so I introduce her "um... Cole, this is Hannah." I say stepping back "Hannah this is Cole... My um, friend" I say. "I've seen Hannah around." Cole says. Hannah just waves and decides to go with her friends and leaves me and Cole alone.
I think she did that on purpose, I thought.
